Description

Windmill-ready storage.

Toss a neon windbreaker under the bungee storage on the back of the DAKINE Transit Backpack and head out for b-boy practice in the park. Yeah, we’re still calling them b-boys because we know that, until you saw the Transit’s array of pockets for organizing your gear, you were storing everything in a fanny pack. It’s ok, just stash your square-frame shades in the dedicated sunglass zip pocket and get with 2010.

While my kindergartener hasn't really challenged this pack, it HAS put up with the everyday abuse a five-year-old can come up with. It's a feather-light pack so it doesn't add to the bulk a young student needs to lug around school.

Would this be a good backpack for school. I'm looking to fit a 13" laptop, a few notebooks and a binder in. Would this do the trick?

It should do the trick. 1100 cu is about 18L, which is definitely enough for the laptop and notebooks, but you won't be able to fit a huge amount more in over and above that.

I purchased this pack to replace a sling style bag I use to go back and forth to work in NYC. This bag is awesome....lightweight and super comfortable, with plenty of room for all my daily commuting needs. Plus the fleece lined top zipper pouch is a perfect fit for my iPod.

Looking at photos of the Dakine Transit Pack, the one that's color black seems to be the only one that is lacking an extra zippered pocket on the front. All the other colors have the extra pocket. Am I seeing that correctly?

No. They all have it. It's a fine little pack. Peace.
