Your eight o’clock sucks no matter what, so bring your laptop in the DAKINE Transfer Backpack and distract yourself enough to stay awake. The 1400cu-inch Transfer has a padded laptop sleeve so bums on the bus can’t destroy the one thing you can’t survive without (at least academically). The back and shoulder straps are made of DriMesh breathable fabric for sweaty death marches to finals. The Transfer also has a fleece-lined sunglasses pocket and stealth side pockets to hide your ID and boarding pass when you’ve had enough with school and decide to travel abroad.

Bottom Line: New Zealand is pretty good for that sort of thing.

great backback. snug fit, secures the laptop. could slide an ipad into the doc sleeve if you wanted to. doesn't feel clunky like regular backpacks. looks smart.

Got the Dakine Transfer after being an avid messenger bag guy for the past seven years. I ride my bike to work (2 miles) and wanted something that was like my messenger in that it stuck to my back and had a side pocket so I could get to the essentials quickly. I switched to a backpack because I was tired of having only one sore shoulder and hoped that a backpack would distribute the weight more evenly. This bag delivers! The padding is really nice and I have been able to comfortably fit and carry a Dell E1505 laptop, a 1" binder, a 5lb. textbook, and a change of clothes (not to mention all the little things). Highly recommended.
