Solid Mitts

  • Familiarity:I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Got them as a gift for my brother. High quality construction and pretty warm and thick. It has pretty firm stuffing so it's comfortable and won't move around the glove. Could use some clips on wrist or something, but overall very satisfied.

3 Days in Vermont... Not good enough

  • Fit:True to size

I bought these last week and have only used these babies 3 days on snow up here at Smugglers' Notch. I'm a snowboard instructor up here so I was looking for something that'll keep my hands warm and dry through the duration of the season. Day 1: 0*F, They were perfect, repelled the dry snow, kept me super warm with my POW liners. Day 2: -3*F, Again perfect. Day 3 (Today) 16*F, The water repellent leather on the palms didn't cut it. The leather absorbed the water right up and the added moisture within the glove is noticeable because of it. I'm pretty disappointed after having such a good experience the first two days of wearing them. I may just buy some NIKWAX and lather these up. Hopefully that'll do the trick.

If the leather is soaking up water in the mid-teen degree Fahrenheit range, I could only imagine how much worse they would be during later march/spring conditions when the snow is wetter.

Great Mitts

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit:True to size

I have been using these mittens for about 6 months now and they have no sign of waring down or falling apart. The waterproofing, warmth, and quality is all top notch. Although I would not recommend these for a freezing cold powder filled day, they are more than sufficient on your average day of riding.
