Good bag, Great Price

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This bag is super basic and fairly durable. The bag has lasted quite well over time and really is for the purpose of storage for protection. I would not try to take this through a flight if I didn't have to, though. Having no real protection for the skis, carrying them around in the bag is nice from the garage to the car and back allows for you to carry the bag, poles and some other gear all in one easy trip.

Solid, basic bag

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I bought this Dakine bag knowing it isn't padded and isn't made to protect skis from damage, and it performed exactly as expected. For the price, it's well-made, with durable fabric that I expect to hold up through multiple uses. My brother used the bag to fly with skis across the country and packed clothes in the bag to cushion them, and while I probably wouldn't make a habit of using it when flying, it did the job in a pinch, and his skis were fine. Don't buy this if you're looking for a cushioned bag with wheels and other extras, but if you're just looking for a basic bag to keep your skis in one place, this is a good option.

Good basic ski bag

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This bag fits my 175cm skis perfectly. The material is fine. I wouldn't use this bag if I were taking my skis on a plane since there is no padding. But I wanted something lightweight that I can use to keep my car clean when I'm carrying my skis. This can also fit in my ski rack, although it's not recommended. The bag would be perfect if it had buckles in the front and back to tighten the bag.

Good basic bag

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is a tough fabric bag - no padding, but the fabric seems very durable with a strong zipper. I didn't need a bag I could fly my skis with, just something to protect them when they're in my rocket box, and it does a great job for that. The bag easily fits my 187cm long Alpine skis with poles. It will actually hold my 192cm long Nordic skis with poles with room for a second set of Nordic skis and poles.

Nice day-trip bag

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I got this to replace my 25+ year old nylon ski bag. This bag appears to be made of a much more durable material, so I expect to get a lot of years out of it. Big, rugged full-length zipper makes it easy to get skis in/out, and plenty of room for poles. The strap-plus-carry-handle works well, particularly as the strap is adjustable. This is NOT a padded "travel-type" bag (bus/airplane); It is intended to keep dirt/snow out of the trunk, and ease schlepping up from the parking lot with your skis. For that, it works great. I have another (padded) bag for when I need to say pile skis in for a long bus trip. Be sure to order the correct length; e.g. I got the 190CM for my 177's.

As a thin sleeve, can anybody speculate whether or not this would work well in a roof ski rack?
