The DAKINE Pro II Pack gives you space and versatility when you want to spend a day earning your turns. The Pro II has plenty of space in its 1600cu inch interior to stash your extra layers and grub—so pack it up and get some. While you hike a steep ridgeline, carry your skis diagonally or your board vertically or horizontally. The Pro II Backpack has an exterior shovel blade/snow tool pocket, quick-draw holster for an ice axe or shovel handle, and a waist-belt pocket to keep your digital camera at the ready. DAKINE keeps you hydrated with a deployable water bottle pocket and insulated Hydro Sleeve for your water reservoir.

I picked up this pack since the Heli Pro just didn't seem to hold everything I wanted to take on a quick tour. The bonus with the Pro II is that it can hold enough gear to convert that yo-yo side-country lap to an all day event if you want to. One thing I found useful is when I wanted to cross-carry my skis and the pack was pretty full if I moved the shovel blade from the shovel pocket to the inner compartment it allowed the skis to ride a bit better. Aside from the typical strapitis that DAKINE packs suffer from, the weight isn't too much. One lap or all day, this pack is good to go.

I purchased this backpack for my husband for snowmobiling. This pack is light weight and comfortable to wear. It has plenty of room to store our equipment. I highly recommend it. I love the lifetime guarantee.

I used the Pro II all last season and really was impressed with it. The one thing I found that didn't really do it for me was the slot for your probe in the mid-pocket. It is too shallow, so I ended up just throwing my probe in the main compartment. This is a great all-around backcountry pack for either a snowboarder or skier.
