Long days in the backcountry await.

Sometimes the best zones to shred are also the hardest to get to. Make sure you're ready for the long journey ahead with the Dakine Pro II Backpack. It's similar to the best-selling Heli Pro, but has a larger storage capacity so you can cram in more gear for longer excursions and is equipped with extra features like a deployable helmet carry. Plus, it has a contoured harness designed specifically to fit a woman's frame so you break trail in comfort.

The main compartment has a shovel blade sleeve and room for your probe, and loops on the exterior hold your shovel handle so your rescue tools are always easy to access. An insulated hydration pocket keeps your water from freezing, and a fleece-lined goggle pocket protects spare lenses from getting scratched. If you feel like bootpacking, you have the option of a vertical or horizontal snowboard carry straps, and retractable cables hold your skis if you're on two planks. A quick-draw ice axe sleeve allows quick access to your axe if you find yourself in a hairy situation, and an integrated rescue whistle on the sternum strap can help you if you really find yourself in a pinch.

Great Pack

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

This backpack is great! That being said, I use it for school rather than backcountry expeditions. As far as a school pack goes, this thing does the job. It fits everything I need. It is also very cute and very comfortable. I bike to class, so the hip belt is a must have that I am glad is on there. I don't know if I would recommend this pack for ski touring though, as the pack is a bit saggy and wont retain its shape when you load your skis on the back. The last version of this pack I had did last for 6 years though, so if you're looking for something super durable, this is the one!!

Great everyday/snowboarding bag

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

This is the second Dakine Pro II bag i have got for my girlfriend. Only reason she wanted another one was because the last one got stolen. She loved the first one so much that when I went to get her a replacement she would only allow me to get her another Pro II bag. She used it nearly everyday. Bag is very durable and looked nearly new after many months of heavy use. The zippers on this newer bag seem "stiff", but I am guessing they will break in with more use. Plus, you cant go wrong with a lifetime warranty! Great bag and a great price from backcountry
