Organization for backcountry essentials.

The Dakine Pro II Backpack effortlessly organizes all of your safety and snow tools, helping you get the goods on dawn patrol missions and strenuous backcountry trips. Offering a dedicated compartment for your collapsible shovel and probe, the pack's front pocket secures snow tools within easy-reach. The padded waist belt and sternum strap comfortably secure the pack while you're skinning uphill, also stashing small items within the zippered waist belt pocket. In addition, the pack features a zippered back-panel for accessing your pack's contents without disturbing everything inside.

Keeping you hydrated, the pack's side water bottle pocket and insulated hydration sleeve (bladder sold separately) allow for easy drinking while you're on-the-move. The deployable helmet carry cinches tightly over the top of the bag, securing your helmet on your up-hill slog. Especially handy on sketchy slopes where one slip could be disastrous, the quick-draw ice axe sleeve allows for easy retrieving.

Carrying your skis or snowboard, the pack's built-in ski and snowboard carry help you reach freshies when bootpacking up resort ridges and out-of-bounds stashes. The ski carry function consists of a retractable cable that slings skis diagonally across your back, and the snowboard carry simply clips the board vertically over your back.

Great backpack!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I love this backpack! Probably the most I could fit in it is: hydration bladder, shovel, probe, extra pair of goggles, down jacket, survival knife, snow saw and some small bits like ski straps and such.

Best day pack

For ski touring I have found that this is the perfect match for me and a day tour. There is plenty of room for an extra layer, food, water, cornice cutter, shovel, probe, an extra camera lens, knife, leatherman, walkie talkie and goggles in a fleece lined pouch - there is also a pouch on the inside of the back panel i like to put my skins in.. Very comfortable on shoulders and the hipbelt is burly enough to carry the load capacity but still low profile to save weight. Overall the bag has very little swing weight which is one of the reasons that i love it besides it's perfect volume capacity.

can you put ski boots in or on it?

Responded on

Josh, I still haven't got my hands on mine... but I highly doubt it!

This is "only" 26 liters, while DaKine's Boot Bag is 30 liters and will fit JUST the boots. The DaKine Boot Pack is 50 liters and will fit a couple more things...

Maybe you should contact a gearhead!
