Dakine Freestyle Snowboard Bag

This bag is awesome. Drove from Ohio to Colorado and back for spring break with it on top of car and it shows no signs of wear. Looks like new.

I have a Burton Feather 144 board. Will it fit in the 145cm bag? Or should I go a size up?

Responded on

the 145cm bag will fit your board. if you want more room for boots, jackets, etc... you may want to size up. cheers

Solid Bag

This bag is nothing fancy but gets the job done. Looks pretty cool in rasta. Its really meant to keep it from getting scratched up in your car or when your storing it for the off season. Overall, awesome for what it costs!

this is the fist snowboard bag iv purchased. i always rode second hand boards until this year i treated myself to a brand new gnu park pickle. without thinking i quickly ordered a bag to keep the board in good shape while in my back seat and the dust off it in the summer. anyway my boards a 156 and i ordered this bag in a 157. my bindings are size m, and gnu flow-in style. boots size 10. think im gonna have enough room to fit it all or was i a lil to over eager to protect my board and make a big mistake?

Responded on

you should have enough room for your stuff. if you want to keep your board in good shape a board bag is a great choice

I ordered this bag size 165cm, but my board is 165cm. Will it fit my board with my flow bindings attached? Do you think there will be enough room for size 13 boots too? What about boots / goggles / gloves / socks ?

Can i stick my dog / cat / recliner / big screen tv too ? =P ... No srsly, do you think I will be able to atleast get my board / bindings / boots in there?

Responded on

And its a wide board, does that matter?

Nice for Price

Good all around bag. Reliable, and helps keep all your snowboarding gear in one place. If your board falls in between sizes, I recommend to size up for extra room.

Do I need a 65" bag for my 62" board?

Linda, I would size up to the 165cm bag to give you a little extra room. It would probably fit in the 157cm bag but it would be a really snug fit.

165 Dakine Pipe Snowboard bag, with my 159 Ride DH 2.1 and Union Contact Pro Bindings.

This is a great day-use bag to keep the everyday beatings off of your equipment.

The zippers are overbuilt & stout, which is everything you could ask for in a bag like this.
As shown there is plenty of extra room in my bag if I should choose to fill it with extra gear.

I would not reccomend this bag for airline Travel, as it is not padded. (look at the Dakine Tour model for this)

Overall this bag is a 5-star item for what it is. A light-day-use board bag with plenty of room.

Hey will i be able to fit 157 2011 line masterminds, an 06 salomon prospect board, and a pair of poles in the 165 size, even if it is a tight fit.

Responded on

Most likely no, with your snowboard in there the binding take up a good bit of room, making it really difficult to fit your skis in there as well. For something that will hold all, invest in a double ski/double board bag.

what size bag for a 148cm snowboard

Responded on

I would get the 157 cause it'll give you a little extra room for gear or tools, and it won't be so big that it's too hard to handle.

WIll your helmet, boots, and goggles fit in the bag along with the board?

You can cram all your gear in here. the bag is designed for board only but as long as you size up you can fit more stuff.

hi,
two questions:
1. does this bag have any padding at all, or is it literally just a cover like one thin layer of fabric?
2. the description implies you can get your boots in there as well, do they fit in a separate internal pocket? or do they rattle around in the same compartment as your board :|
thanks
Rich

Responded on

1. No padding, just a canvas-type cover.
2. There are separate pockets for your boots.

whhhat these fi boots as well..???

Responded on

Yes your boots will definitely fit in the with your board/bindings.

Great Cheap Solution

Seems like a great sturdy bag so far. Haven't used it for travel yet but of course put my board in and packed it full of gear to daydream of my trip out to Colorado. No padding to speak of but since I have to put my coat, gloves, and some layers in there anyway it's no worries. Looks sicks! I went a little big by getting the 165 cm even tho my board is only about 58 inches and it seems the bag is true to size.

Does the trick

i got a 157cm kernigan bag for my 152cm board and it's a perfect fit. i can still fit my boots too. the just wished the bag had a small zipper compartment for random things.

DAKINE Pipe Snowboard Bag

Got this bag for my little brother for X-mas - He's 14, has a 155 board. He loves it - it fits ALL his gear, and he loves the look. Now He's one of the cool kids - no more shlepping gear, sliding boards, boots around your neck, etc. Also, the large size will allow him to keep the bag even though he will be getting a new board in another year or two. Also, can't beat the price!

Awesome bag!!!!

I LOVE THIS BAG! It is easy to carry and light weight. While it doesn't offer any type of padded protection, it's easy to put a jacket, pants and some sweaters. This definately gives your suitcase a lot more freedo since you don't have to put the bulky snowboard pants and jacket in it. It's also seems like great quality and durability. So far it's survived two plane rides, considering i've had other luggage that barely made it one plane trip (Damn those baggage handlers...more liike baggage destroyers!)

Good for the $

For an inexpensive light travel board bag it is great. On a weekend trip I can fit board, bindings, boots, jacket, pants, gloves, goggles in it with a little room to spare. I would not take it on an airplane because of the lack of padding, but for everything else it is perfect.
For those of you that expected padding, it clearly states there is none. Same durable fabric used in most Dakine luggage.

is it fully padded on the inside?

Not padded at all. Just a cheap ($ wise) solution to transporting a snowboard.
