DAKINE Overhead Rolling Bag - 2500cu in. - 2008 BCS

This bag is so cute I just love how it stands out and makes me feel unique--I've gotten so many complements on it. It's very spacious for the size--I think it's because of the flexible fabric and how the top and bottom are both their own packing compartments. I just love it.I do want to let it be known that the bag's tag says it's 2300 cu in rather than 2500. It's just a bit smaller than I had expected, but fits in the overhead compartment on planes just fine. Had it been 2500, I'm not sure that it would--and I only ever do carry-on so that was important to me. Also, I agree with the other reviews that wish it had "feet" on the bottom to stabilize it. I haven't had an issue with it tipping over, but with as cute as the fabric is I don't want it to get dirty or wet from touching the ground / floor.The fabric is cool and the bag has a softer shell than others I've had in the past. Used it on a 5-day beach trip and very easily fit everything I needed (I do tend to pack light).Enjoy!

I bought this bag for a trip to my brother's wedding. I went for 7-days and was able to pack all my clothes, and several pairs of shoes, along with the suit I was going to wear! It looks kinda small at first, but it doesn't have fully structured walls like a regular suitcase which makes it possible to ram cram tons of stuff! It isn't super stable when you try to stand it up, but it's worth a tiny flaw for such huge storage capacity!

I wasn't impressed with this bag when it arrived in the mail, but now that I've used it, it has won me over.

I purchased this bag for a four day weekend trip. My original flight was cancelled so I ended up staying for five days. I could fit more than enough clothes and shoes for five days in this luggage. The two equally sized compartments are very nice and make it easy to open and close the luggage and take out the item you want. Each side has a mesh with a zipper so you can see inside, but nothing will fall out.

I like to read on the plane, so I put one book in each front pocket. This turned out to be wiser than expected. The plane was so small that, at the gate, they checked my bag for gate claim, so it was easy to take out my book before I boarded the plane and slip it back in the front pocket when we arrived at our destination.

I agree with the former reviewers on the following:

1) Yes, the top and side handles make it very easy to pick up and carry. They are thick and sturdy. The extendable handle works well, too, except I find that I have to press the button a few times before it extends, because I don't press it deep enough the first time. So make sure you press that button deep.

2) When you stand up the bag, it does tend to lean forward, so you have to stand it up carefully. If you don't stand it up carefully, it will fall over.

At first glance I thought I made a mistake purchasing this bag. It looks smaller than it is. I went to NY for a weekend and packed a decent amount of clothes and also put my shoes in the seperate front pocket which is a plus for me cuz I've been told I have some stinky feet. Overall I like the design and style. Looks cooler than a standard all black suite case and you can also spot it easier. I found it really easy to get around with because there are handles on the top, side, and the extendable handle if you want to roll it behind you. The handle extends pretty far out even in the shortest adjustable setting, so I wound up using the side handles to carry it through the crowded NYC subway.
