    Great Backpack

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I did not hesitate to give this backpack an amazing review!! The other backpack I had before this was also Dakine. Sadly I had to retire it after using it almost every day for seven years. I loved that backpack and was sad to see it go, as my stuff was about to fall out of the bottom of it. Anyway, this new backpack has been great so far! I use it for school to carry around about 20lbs of of books. It has lots of pockets to store all of the stuff that I need on a daily basis and the padding on the back and shoulders is distributed very well. It's a high quality material with high quality zippers that I see lasting for a long time. Oh yeah and I look like a total badass wearing it because it's camo. ;)

Well made, sturdy pack for price

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Bought as backpack for canyoneering trip on clearance. Needed a backpack that could get canyon wall scraped and still hold up for hike out.
Some scrape marks after several hours in a tight canyon, but held up well overall. Adjustable chest and waist belt helped distribute heavily loaded pack over course of long day.
Appreciated organizer area in smaller front pocket for separating smaller items. Three side zip pockets were helpful for more readily needed, quick grab items (inhalers, headlamp, waterproof camera, and such).
Suggest adding a hydration tube opening in future models.

    Well made but too rigid

The pack is definitely well made and reinforced in many areas. I found it to be a bit constricting/rigid and will be sending for an exchange. My previous backpack of 14 years (RIP) expanded out a bit more to allow for larger items whereas this one is limited to skinnier items. The side pockets are handy. Wouldn't recommend using for travel unless you only needed 2-3 days of clothes. Good for commuting or school.

      Great bag but...

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I used this bag for biking around town and to the gym and thought maybe would take snowboarding eventually but I really did not like the fact that there was nowhere to store a water bottle. I thought the side pockets could double as water bottle holders but they did not. It does feel nice/comfortable while biking and the waist belt does not get in the way when it is not in use like i thought it would. I got the Marlo color and loved it.

Great pack with lots of pockets and room

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

While on vacation my wife and I ended up buying a men's version of this pack (as we sadly missed the delivery of her Panorama before we had to leave) and we used it for an entire week of riding. It's a very roomy pack with lots of pockets; there's good padding in them, and there are a few "security" pockets on the inside of the pack.

The backing is not as rigid as some others and might not provide the best protection but it makes the pack very comfortable on the mountain. The board straps came in handy for other things like temporarily attaching helmets to carry.

      Womens?

I guess I missed the memo on there being a womens version of this backpack. I love mine, although it's technically the mens version. They offer it in sicker colors. so check out the mens if you dont find a color you fancy here, as I believe they're exactly the same. Also, I actually reviewed it over there.

        Great pack high school/college

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

We have tried several packs due to the weight she carries. This is the only one we have tried that distributes the weight adequately. She just loves it and it's a great buy.

        Worth $70

absolutely love this backpack, it has room for everything including my laptop which is a huge plus. great for school and those days where you just want to hit the slopes. mine is in mulberry and the colour on the site is quite a bit different from what you get but its still great-- awesome bag all around !

Good for a trip to Israel? Water bottles, hats and other sun help?

          Best Answer

          Hi Susan,

This pack could easily take a trip to Israel, but is specifically designed as a snowboarding backpack so I might go for something a bit lighter, like the Gregory Jade: http://www.backcountry.com/gregory-jade-28-backpack-womens-gre0108?ti=U2VhcmNoIFJlc3VsdHM6Z3JlZ29yeSBkYXlwYWNrczoxOjM6Z3JlZ29yeSBkYXlwYWNrcw&skid=GRE0108-LVRD-M

Whichever pack you end up getting, have a wonderful time on your trip!
