    Rollin Rollin Rollin....

DAKINE at it again, making bomber bags across the board. I love this bag, I dont think I will buy a snowboard bag from another brand to be honest.

It fits a lot more then just boots, board and helmet. If you are a good package I have gotten a full 3 day trips worth of stuff (including a blow dryer!) in this bad boy.

I personally have a mens color but the womens bag is designed to be just as durable and great at the mens.

Great price and great option :)

      Rollin Rollin Rollin....

      An early and untimely demise

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

As the saying goes "if it's not broke, don't fix it"...

      1. I've always used burton for ALL my luggage needs and they lasted years of travel and abuse. This year, I decided to switch it up and give Dakine a try. On this bag's maiden voyage, I found it at baggage claim with a large rip right where my snowboard's metal edge lays. I feel this bag should have more durability/padding where a board's metal edge lays. Thankfully... my brand spanking new Jones board, though now completely visible, was undamaged.

      2. I purchased the 157 since all my boards are 154 or smaller. My Jones is a 154. With the binding on, my boots (size 9.5 women's) & helmet hardly fit in the bag. I feel that's pretty unacceptable for a travel bag...

      3. There is no shoulder strap! I love that the bag rolls BUT stairs! And a shoulder strap is a thousand times more comfortable than a handle. I knew this going into it, but now after traveling with a bag without a shoulder strap... never again.

Of course, Dakine's warranty doesn't cover any airline damage. Boo. So, back to Burton I go. Pretty bummed buying a new travel board bag and it couldn't even complete 1/2 the trip.

      Awesome upgrade!

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I had the non-roller version of this bag for a while. I got sick of shouldering that bag, another bag, and dragging my suitcase around on longer board trips, so I upgraded.

BIG DEAL. This has made life so much easier. There's still plenty of space and it's really easy to maneuver. Really durable and not bad to look at, either.

The airlines still haven't killed it

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This bag has taken a beating travelling around the world and is still kicking on with no serious damage, it is super durable. Plus it looks awesome and matches my other dakine bag.

It has big wheels that work great for rolling it through the city and work pretty well when you are dragging it through the snow.

I fit 2 boards, 2 bindings, boots and outerwear in it - its a bit of a squeeze and you wouldn't be able to fit much more than that in (I normally squeeze a few socks and thermals around the empty spaces till its overflowing).

As with all roller bags I've seen its a bit heavy but in my opinion the extra weight is totally worth the convenience of being able to roll it along and the durability.

      Unanswered Question

Can I fit 152 cm skis (and shorter poles) into the snowboard bag? Ski bag seems a little big long for me. Will ski boots fit into the snowboard boot compartment ?

Is a 157cm bag too big for a 144cm board? I'd also like to store my helmet and boots in it as well.

I have a 140cm board, and the current...

I have a 140cm board, and the current wheeled bag I have is way too long. When I try to wheel it through the airport the top just flops down and it makes it basically impossible to travel with. Will this bag be too long too?

      Best Answer

So I have this bag in In a 175cm but have used it to transport boards ranging from 156 to 170 with no problem. You will have a little room in the front(non wheeled side) like you said your old bags would. but if you have boots in the pockets and some gear in there to fill the void, the bag will wheel just fine. Personally, packing all my riding gear into the bag makes sure its all with me and I don't forget my gloves in my other pack. And like I said, fills the space. When packing a car its best to have your gear all protected in that sense as well. Its an awesome bag!!
