DAKINE Jewel Backpack - Women's - 1660cu in - 2009 BCS

Pro's:
- large enough for a college student (i.e. fits laptop, two large books, and 1" binder nicely)
- pencil pocket is wonderful and helps keep things organized
- love the soft lined pockets for cell phone, iPod, and sunglasses
- so cute, love wearing it around campus

Con's:
- bottom of the bag is not padded (i.e. drop it with your laptop in it and the laptop feels the damage)
- bottom of bag is slightly rounded, not flat so it will not stand up on its own
- insulated lunch pocket is neat, but I ended up using it for additional storage

Neutral's:
- this style of backpack straps forces you to wear the backpack a little lower than others

I bought this for my fiancee as an Xmas gift because she was using her purse for her law school book bag and those books are SO BIG that she kept on tearing her purse straps. After a few purses were ruined, I knew it was time for a new approach.

I bought this backpack for her because it is cute but also VERY functional. It has plenty of space, laptop section (she was smashing our Mac with the lawbooks purse thing), and a cooler pocket, which is pretty sweet.

She is not ashamed to wear it, so that is a victory.
When I said she needed a back pack she scoffed and said, "like a Jansen?" So I knew I had to go with something flamboyant and stylish.

Mission Accomplished.

I love this backpack, has everything you need and tons of room! Cool lunch cooler pocket, lined sun glasses pocket, and tons of space for even your biggest books. I love it!

I absolutly love my Dakine Jewel Backpack. Not only is it extremly fashionable, I can use it for camping or school! I am currently using it for school, and I am hauling thick textbooks and binders, and my backpack is lightweight. I love it!!

Love this pack, it has a lunch cooler pocket! okay, so it doens't keep your food super cold but it does all right. also has a great sunglass pocket on top, fleece lined so you don't scratch up your glasses! It has everything I need for school/work, included the laptop sleeve & padded back.
