Escape the gapers.
When the resort is played out, reach for the Dakine Heli Pro II 28L Pack and load up everything you need to get the goods. The Heli Pro is adequately sized for a full-day in the backcountry with room for a midlayer, skins, shovel, probe, and plenty of water. Accessing your skins and extra layers during transitions is quick thanks to the large back panel access, while a separate shovel and probe pocket keeps your avy gear close at hand. The Heli Pro is equipped with a fleece-line goggle pocket to keep your goggles unscathed during the ascent. A deployable helmet carry option secures your brain bucket, so it doesn't get all sweaty on the way back up. F-Stop Gear Alternative
I was looking for an alternative to the F-Stop camera backpacks. I finally found one. Throw an Ape Case camera insert or two inside and away you go. The front sleeve fits a 15" MacBook Pro. Fits under an airplane seat perfectly. What more can you ask for?
Spacious but not bulky
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
My favorite part about this pack after using it for a week is how compact it is when you aren't utilizing all the space. I was worried using a 28L pack in the resort would be too bulky but there is no problem carrying some layers, water and some beer in this pack while lapping chairs. I barely even notice it is there most of the time.
When it comes to backcountry use the back swells up to fit all you need for a day out in the mountains. Dakine really thought through the design and I have no complaints about the pack. The insulated water hose feature in the strap is super rad and works!
I got the shadow color and in the picture it looks whiter than it is in reality! I preferred the greyish color though is it all worked out!
the perfect pack
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
I was looking to purchase a backpack just to hold my skis and take me into the mountains but then I purchased the heli por and used it the next day for backpacking and really enjoyed the way it has multi use pockets from holding skis
A frame and horizontal. It also has pockets for a camel back and many smaller pockets for holding smaller ideas. The pack is sit up very well from deep lager pockets to hold all your gear for a long day and has a ton of clips and straps to hold Carabiners and excuse gear you cant fit in the pack. I had the original Heli Pro and loved and lasted me a little over 6 years and put to very hard use and thought it would be time to upgrade. Love the pack and will always go to Dakine for outdoor gear!
is it waterproof?
Hi. Is this coming with water reservoir or water bladder in the pack or do I need to buy it separately?
Hey Soo K. - The DAKINE Heli Pro II does not include the H2O bladder. You would need to buy it separately. Feel free to contact me directly with any additional questions.

Doe this pack have a zippered back entry?
Yes, this pack does have a zippered back panel access.
Does this pack have the option for vertical snowboard carry?
Great question. This back has vertical carry for snowboards and then diagonal and A-frame options for skis and splitboards.
