I was looking for a large backpack for airline travel that was big enough to get me through a long weekend but small enough to fit in even the the shallow overhead compartments or under the seat. I really like the size and layout of this one, and all of the different compartments are handy. The only complaint I would have is that the top flap is secured to the shoulder straps, rather than the top of the bag itself, so it's a little difficult to get them nice and tight. I realize the bag is intended for skiers, which I definitely am not. Considering that, it has satisfied me needs very well and is very tough but plenty flexible.

I've been lift skiing with a Chute (2200 cu in) for 3 years, and I feel no need to downsize. It is bigger that pretty much everyone else's pack but I like to eat lunch outside and carry lots of water/soup. In truth I will likely replace my chute with this guy here.
