I have 1-2-3 DAKINE SKI BAGS

By:
November 3, 2010

RIght I have 3 Dakine Ski Bags - Not for ski use tho'!- I actually use these bags to store MY KITES. Yes! Professional Stunt Dual Kites - I have 8 kites per bag, and it is major perfect to carry around the flying field - beach and sand - NO PROBLEM -

I like the padding - it just feels weird carrying the kite bag on ONE SIDE - that was how the Kite was designed... I was hoping I can carry it with at least 2 strap WRAPPED around the bag - It's OK .. I am happy

Close but no cigar

Too short for my 170cm K2s. . . spec said the bag measured 170cm. Also, the bag SCREAMS an ad for Dakine (since you can't see online that the brand is in black-on-black design all over the frickin thing).

no they won't. I got it for my 184cm skis and I have to pull a bit hard to get them in.

Your skis might not fit into this bag. I have 177s and the bag only has an inch or so to spare.

Great bag for the money

I really like this bag. Very rugged and high quality materials-- should last a long time. When I fly with them, I use a layer of bubble wrap. The bottom is padded, but the sides and top are not.

this bag is good for the money and it looks nice. the bottom padding is a nice feature so you don't need to worry about banging your skis when putting them in.
no pockets and my 184cm skis barely fit in it: I have to pull a bit hard to get them in.

good package/wrong color

My Hot Run Nordica 178's, Marker bindings and poles fit with room to spare. Good solid construction, but think I'd rather have a hard shell for checking on an airplane. Would pad with clothes for more protection if flying. Since I'm driving; no worries. Ordered "Black Patches", but received "Black". No big deal. Good value.

Decent bag for travel

By:
February 1, 2010

Bought this so I could take my skis as checked baggage. Worked well. I used my ski clothes to add extra padding. Would be better with wheels as it can get rather heavy to tote everything.

Also, I kept forgetting to do this, but it's a good idea to take the strap off and pack it, before you check the bag, as it might get lost during travel.

Great comprimise between cost and toughness

Did a great job protecting my skis from baggage handlers at the airport (packing your skis with some extra clothes always helps too).
A small note: My K2 179cm Public Enemies barely fit in the 185cm version of this bag.

worked out just fine

The guy driving the shuttle from the airport up to Alta said it was a nice looking bag. I tend to agree with him.

Having said that, the brake on the binding came pretty close to rubbing through the bottom of the bag on the way home...I think its the best deal for the money but be careful how you pack it.
