While you head into the lodge to make a condiment salad, resort-town gangsters want to snag your precious shred stick that you saved for all summer long. The DAKINE Cam Lock is here to deter sticky-fingered wannabes from stealing your precious slayer of powder.

  • Cam lock design stretches around board and bindings
  • Heavy-duty plastic-covered steel cable keeps it locked like a vault
  • Comes with two keys
  • 50in (127cm) for plenty of room to lock up your board in awkward places

Bottom Line: Your next option is a mean-ass junk yard dog.

Honestly if you are looking for a lock, look no further. Not to take anything away from the other locks out there but there is no comparison. The 2 key facts that make this lock king are;
1 - 50in wire is more then enough to keep you covered
2 - This is a serious wire, if someone is looking to steal the wire is a huge pain to work though in comparison to the unprotected and flimsy wires of the other locks out there
3 - Keys is better then Codes

Overall a great system and carrying it in your jacket is cake and does not get in the way

Gave this 4 stars because it has a cool little case to keep the lock tidy in your bag or pocket. The coated cable wont scratch your skis or board, but the keys are a pain, and god forbid you lose them. But if you're into combo locks you lose some security as well. I think this gets the job done and the lock isn't a stanley, but it'll hold off thieves while you grab a beer, hit the head, and puff a smoke, just in time for the last gondola ride up....enjoy

Peace at Mind if a little inconvenient.

Ok, so it's not a thin retractable model like some others. It doesn't save space in your pocket or your pack like a retractable one either. It's not a 3 number combo lock. It's not going to easy to fix if you lose the keys and there are only 2 keys. Got it?

Here's what it is though. It's sturdy, comes with a pouch that size of a CD. The keys can be a pain if you don't push the key all the way in, but that's really the only knock against it. The other semi knock is that it's not on a retractable line, so you have to wind it yourself. At the same time though, it's thick wired and dependable.

Fits in most ski/board Jacket pockets but probably will not be 100% comfortable. I ride with a pack, so I don't mind carrying it. I doubt anyone's going to ever try cutting your wires when another skinnier lock is right near by. Don't worry while you go to lunch, grab a beer or take care of your kid. Just lock up and go.

Like I said, 2 keys, easy to lock up if your wearing liner gloves or thin gloves, not bulky one's.Have had it work just fine at -5 Fahrenheit temps on the east coast. Not the fastest or most convenient, but certainly one of the more sturdy locks around.

super strong... super versatile

I purchased this lock because I wanted a compact lock, but I didn't want the thin cables that are on the really compact locks. When its coiled in its case its about the size of a cd... but I can safely lock my snowboard, my bf skis and have enough left over for secure wraps around the stands, or enough for two other friends rides. Its really easy set up cause the cable can be fully detached from the lock, so you can thread it anywhere, and the cam of the lock makes it flexible to attach anywhere. Bonus, a pair of wire cutters won't cut through this cable, so you can enjoy your lunch break
