Keep your stuff organized and be quick

Be quick out the door on pow days with this bag that fits all your gear including: boots, helmut and googles, gloves. extra gloves, jacket, and a puppy.. wait no puppy. But this puppy has plenty of room.

A necessity when it comes to skiing

    • Familiarity:I've used it several times

This ski bag is amazing. I got it because I was tired of riffling through the back seat of my car to find all my gear. It literally fits everything (coat, pants, toque, helmet, gloves, goggles, under layers, boots, etc.) but my skis and poles no problem! You really can't beat the compact cargo capacity of this bag.

Big enough for all your gear

    • Familiarity:I've used it several times

i bought this right before a trip to CO and it was the best purchase I made. All of my gear fits in it (helmet, jacket, ALL OF IT) with a separate compartment for the boots below which is lined. Made it out of baggage check looking fresh to death. Easy cleanup in the bottom compartment when the parking lot is salty. Dakine thought of everything.

    Bigger than you think

    • Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

You could stuff this and fit everything you need for a long trip. I fit my boots, all outerwear, baselayers, gloves, goggles, for a Canada trip, and was still able to compact it enough to carry it on my flight.

If you were planning on checking it at the airport, you can definitely fit more.

    Gym Locker

    • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

Gym Lockers are smaller. The boot locker isn't compact but you won't believe how much stuff you can shove in this thing. It's great to have the boots separate from everything else and the tarp lining keeps moisture out.

    Great ski bag

    • Familiarity:I've used it several times

This is perfect for all your ski gear. The top is big enough for all your clothes and helmet and the bottom fits your boots perfect. It is also lined with water proof material so if you have snow on your boots it doesn't leak through the bag

    Perfect boot/gear bag!

    • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

This bag is huge! Two layers of storage greatness, the top for all of your soft goodies (I.e jacket ,pants,gloves,ect..) and the bottom for your boots and whatever else you can shove in there. Plus, the whole thing is tarp lined so you don't have to worry about water getting in or out. It may be a soft bag but it's durable and if you manage to rip it dakine has a lifetime warranty.

Great size and fits more than you think

Got this for my husband last winter and he loves it. When we first got it we were concerned that it wouldn't fit all of his stuff (he is a patroller so he has lots of stuff). Then he started to pile things in and it was just an endless pit! His boots fit in the bottom section - tightly but fit - which is nice for after skiing, they don't the rest of the stuff wet. Helmet, first aid kit, gloves, radio, beacon, etc all fit in the top comfortably. And after a season of use, it's still looking new!

      Fantastic!

I'm not a huge skier, maybe go two or three times a year, so I have a basic complement of equipment: helmet, boots, pants, gloves, goggles, socks, parka, hat, etc. My point is, I only have one of all these (well, several pairs of socks), so I just keep everything in the boot locker, which has ample room for it all (except the parka). When I'm ready to head for the hills, I just grab the bag and go, no hunting around for, and packing, all my stuff. It's perfect for that sort of use. Got a matching one for my wife.

        Bag gets the job done

Average ski day this puppy is filled with ski boots (27.5 fit no problem at all), helmet (smith vantage L), goggles (Zeal eclipse spx) in the accessory Dakine case, gloves (BD patrol), shell (arcteryx scorpion XL), synthetic downy (arcteryx atom sv L), light under layers, a water bottle and lunch...and the kitchen sink! This bag fits everything nicely. I always have room to spare. The material is durable and the straps make it easy to travel with. If I had to point out one thing which detracts from how nice this bag is, it would have to be the lack of a smaller pocket for keys and wallet. I bought the Dakine goggle case with it and it doubles for key/wallet storage while skiing. I would and have recommended to friends.

Big Space, Great bag Little price.

Tons of space in this thing. This last season I was able to make multiple trips with boots, helmet, good amount of ski clothes and the rest of my gear between this bag and a one ski bag. This guy fits carry-on size requirements as well so you don't get reemed by the airlines. Waterproof bottom compartment lets snow melt drain out and keeps all the rest of your gear dry at the same time. Even if you're not traveling this would still be my highest recommendation for a bag based just on the durability and space. And, its a freakin' steal at under $70.

            Dakine Boot Locker, 2010

My son has encouraged me to purchase this boot locker for over a year. I did purchase five of them. I was amazed, as everyone else, just how much room they have, and the storage space to carry other things beside the winter clothing. The quality looks good. I would purchase more, even just for travel purposes.

Has anyone used this as a carry-on on a flight?

I have the DLX Cargo 55L Backpack and used it as a carry-on just fine; however, am looking at this for a little bit more carrying capacity.. I've seen this bag in person and I don't think it would be a problem as a carry-on either as I've carried much larger duffle bags on before.

I'm trying to find a bag that fits two pairs of boots, any recommendations?

This bag will definitely fit two pairs of boots but depending on the size of your boots it won't leave you much room for anything else, maybe small items like base layers, gloves. I had fit a size 8 and size 5 snowboard boot with my helmet in the bag but didn't have much room for anything except a sweater or smaller items. If you're looking for a duffle type bag to fit both boots and other stuff, you might want to try this:

Will this bag fit size 12 boot plus a knee brace along with helmet etc?

While 4200 cu. in. isn't the best description of bag size I can tell you that this product has interior dimensions of 20 x 15 x 14 inches. In addition to this the lower portion of the bag is designed specifically to hold snow sport boots. I would recommend measuring your gear, and using the dimensions you gather, to see how they will best fit inside of the bag.

without a doubt i would say yes. i have size 14 boots, helmet, pants, jacket, multiple pairs of gloves and goggles, multiple hats, and assorted crap. there is so much room in it, i find myself not cleaning it out often enough because everything fits. so now i have random crap like stickers, old lift tickets, and socks i don't wear in there.

My husband wants a bag that is big enough to hold his boots and helmet as well as that of my 7 year old daughter. Would this bag fit the bill?

Agree. Bag could handle adult boots in bottom compartment, and both helmets in upper. Kids' boots in upper would be a real stretch, probably not possible.

If you do put helmets in, you'll definitely need to check this as checked baggage on the airlines. Won't fit in the overhead. I, for one, carry my boots as carry-on only. They're the most important gear in the locker.

Can you use this bag as a carry on for the plane? If not any recommendations? I don't trust my boots to the luggage handlers at the airlines.

Not sure about all airlines.....but if you are checking skis with Continental they consider the boot bag to part of your ski bag, and charge just one fee for both. Your planks will take far more of a beating getting checked then your boots so if your checking skis/boards i'd just throw the boots below and not have to lug them around...just my 2 cents.
