Boot Locker - 4200cu in

The DAKINE Boot Locker holds your boots in a tarp-lined bottom compartment while your helmet, goggles, and gloves travel in the top half. This means sharp edges and boot mud won't mingle with your winter hat. The tarp-lined boot compartment doubles as a changing mat so you'll be tempted to throw your boots in whether you're traveling across the country or across town.

Bottom Line: Grab the Boot Locker and your ride of choice, and head for the slopes.

Love this bag!

By:

This a great bag as already mentioned, tough construction, looks cool, but best of all it holds a ton of gear. I like to have gear for any weather so I always have at least two sets of gloves, two pair of goggles, mid-weight layers, ski pants, a parka, a down jacket, hand warmers, snacks, beanie, sunscreen, and who knows what else. Add to that the separate compartment for boots and its a tough bag to beat. I used it at least 40 days on the hill and a couple trips last year, and not a single dent, ding, or tear. One improvement would be some organizer pockets around the inside edge like a tool bag, but that is a "wish" not a need. Gonna get one for my wife this year. Highly recommend.

Not sure if this helps but American Airlines considers your skis and your ski boot bag as 1 checked item together so you don't need to carry it on if you're already checking skiis.

Great size. Big but not too ridiculous. It holds everything you'd want it to (ski boots, pants, jacket, helmet, goggles, gloves, etc). Seems pretty durable. Good deal.

ok... so I don't have giant feet (25.5 mondo) but this boot locker is awesome... it fits everything needed for heading to the mountain- hat, gloves, goggies, helmet, and extra crap- layers and more layers if need be. my ski bum boyfriend lives out in Breck and on my monthly trip out there I usually just pack the topside of this bag and check my skis and I'm set for 4 days at least. this bag, with the boots, also fits in the overhead compartment on the plane. I usually put my helmet in the top of my ski bag, so I don't know if it the bag would fit in there with the helmet. either way- a great purchase...

Quality Space Comfort

By:
February 10, 2009

After years of lugging a old Salmon boot bag around, I received this as a replacement from my brother for Christmas. I don't know how I managed before. This reduced my normal travel bags from Skibag/bootbag/duffel to Skibag/bootbag. It easily accommodates my helmet bag, pants, shell, softshell, gloves, goggles and of course, boots. The shoulder strap is very well designed, making this bag extremely comfortable to carry, even stuffed to the gills. The top zippers make it easy to open and easy to access all your things. Constructions seems to be good and leaves me with no doubt it will last for a long while (good and plentiful stitching, large zippers, thick nylon, etc).

I expect to rely on this bag for a long while.

9 out of 10

Excellent design, simple, well constructed of rugged materials and good price. The only thing I would have liked to see would be an outer zipper guard on the bottom zipper. That would help protect the zipper from possible damage if the bag is tossed around by airlines etc.
Most important, ALL my outer gear fits in this bag: size 11 ski boots fit in bottom (w/ room to spare!) and my helmet, goggles, gloves, bib and outer jacket shell fit easily in top. Now I just grab this bag, my ski bag and a back pack for personal clothes etc. and I'm good to go.
Finally, I don't think I will use the 'stand in the bag' feature they talk about when putting on my boots as I'd rather keep the bag clean and undamaged for as long as possible.

A Great Bag!

By:
February 4, 2009

I bought this bag when I bought a Dakine ski bag for my new skis and let me say I am impressed. Massive doesn't do this bag justice, it will fit anything. Boots, gloves, goggles, towel balaclava, hat, thermos, even a whole extra pair of boots, this bag takes it all. I was a bit worried before I bought it, because I had just gotten Salomon Kaos boots in size 29.5 and I thought they might be too big, this beast of a bag fit them too. If you need a great bag that will keep all your stuff together, keep your stuff safe and look good while doing it then get this bag.

I'm so organized now!

By:

I really love this bag. I have boots, helmet, goggles, gloves, mittens, balaclava, hand warmers, beef jerky, gatorade, and several other random things in this bag! I can fit my coat too which is really nice. I no longer look like the stumbling girl that can't keep all her s**t in one place. I probably get an extra run in each time as I get out the door that much faster (:

awesome day trip bag.

By:
January 7, 2009

this bag is big but not THAT big. i use this for day trips on the weekends when i head up to bear mtn. its big enough for a change of clothes, snowboarding jacket, goggle (2), gloes (2), impact gear, and other stuff that you might or might not need. this is def not big enough for an extended trip, overnight might work... depending on how much bathroom stuff you like to bring. oh, the boot compartment is awesome. i can totally throw away my old "boot bag" now.

Awesome Bag!!

By:
January 7, 2009

My friend has one and I have been envious every trip up the hill this year. So I broke down and ordered one in the Woodland color. Its sweet and the pictures did not do the Woodland color any justice. It looks really good! Just loaded it up tonight with all my gear and DFC Deuce boots and it's got plenty of room to spare. Nice!, thanks Backcountry!

Dakine got this one right

By:
January 2, 2009

This bag is HUGE, you can fit just about anything gear wise in this bag. Pants,2 fleeces, dri fit,2 pairs of gloves, and 1 jacket a couple hats and masks and goggles. Oh ya and the boots go in the bottom away from your stuff. I bought 2 of them and my girlfriend loves hers also. It is big though so if you are looking for a small bag thats easy to handle this is not it.
Like one other person noted a pocket on the outside would have been cool but its still great.
