Description

Just couldn't help it.

Word has come down from corporate that this description is not to include anything about robbing banks or liquor stores. So here goes. DAKINE designed the Balaclava to hide your face (not identity) from the chilly claws of winter's icy blast, and you'll miss the soft fleece lining when the cops track you down and throw you into an 8x10 cell full of murderers and thugs.

This balaclava is a great piece for colder temps that leave your ears and nose numb, and for activities that involve high speeds during these cold temps such as snowboarding, skiing, snowmobiling, etc. Very suitable for riding bikes in colder temps, the piece does not affect peripheral vision so your blind spots are not covered up by material. I have extensively used this balaclava when I am biking during colder temps and stormy weather and it has worked very well. I have started incorporating this into my bike gear bag as winter turns to spring and I start focusing on cycling and it has worked really well for me.Typically, I sport this under my helmet, with the bottom part zipped under the neck part of the hoodie, then the Levis commuter jacket over the hoodie, which keeps the Balaclava secure and my face and neck warm while I spin my wheels in the full force of mother nature. The design has venting through the mouth area, so it does tend to accumulate moisture, but not enough to cause issues unless there is a large amount of rain/snow, in which case you would need to dry the balaclava off for awhile. The material works well under a helmet, not adding too much bulk while still providing enough warmth to keep you riding or rolling without having your face frozen off like Jack Nicholson in The Shining. If you need to keep your face frost free do yourself a solid and pick up the Dakine Balaclava
