Awesome sauce

My wife loves these for chilly weather. Surprise gift bc she was having knee problems after a marathon. She likes them so much she wears them as around town pants! Too hot for summer running though.

Excellent for ITB and runner's knee

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have suffered from ITBS and runner's knee for years; I am older and didn't strength train when I was young, so I have weak muscles. I am doing the stretches and strengthening regularly but it will not make up for the years I didn't strength train and this is where these tights come in. If I power-walk without these tights, I have to wear a knee sleeve in order to walk comfortably and pain-free. These tights are like magic....I feel so comfortable yet strong in them and today beat my own record of power-walking 1 mile in 14.2 minutes. As far as I am concerned, these tights work for me and my problem and they have been a valuable investment. Highly recommended.

Great leggings for run

This is the first pair of non cheap tights/leggins I've purchased, since becoming a runner 1 year ago. I love them. They are a struggle to get on, but they provide great support and have even helped to improve my posture during run. They keep everything where it's supposed to be and stay in place. I run 95% of the time indoors on a treadmill, and think these are probably better suited for outdoors and I get a little warm... Great insulators. I am a street size 10/12, and the L fits well.

I'd like to get a pair of 3/4 length tights. Which would be the best for long distance running (10-26 miles)? Also, which are the coolest for summertime heat? I do have some knee pain and my hamstrings are usually really sore after running. Which style would you suggest? Stabilyx or Pros?

IMO, they are too warm for hot summer use.

best buy

Love these tights! I got them for a half marathon and it turned out to be 16 miles and they got me through it. My legs felt great. Also Backcountry is the shiz! I love this site and will order everything for my running with them. They are fast and get your purchases right out to you. I can't say enough good about them and the tights.

The Best

These are great! It's a feat of logistics and creativity trying to get them on, but they are well worth the effort. The muscle support is really good and my legs feel so less fatigued after a run. I can't imagine running in anything else and I'm now eagerly awaiting delivery of another pair.

Won't Run without my CW-X Stabilyx!!

I found the insulated CW-X Stabilyx tights when I was looking for a quality tight for outdoor winter running (Pacific NW) that was wind/water resistant, warmer, but would still breathe and be light weight and easy to move in for running. When they first arrived I thought, "Uh oh...these are tiny! I should have sized up--double!" But I read the "instructions" that came with them and oh, my...what an awesome fit! No more jiggle...they look great and most important--my thighs, knees and calves do great throughout the run! (I'm 54, 155 lbs, and have back and knee issues. I was nervous about IT band injuiries since I had already experienced some tenderness and sharp pains when running, so I spent the big bucks for these. The satisfaction guarantee was the final piece that pushed me over the edge with confidence to submit the order) With weather warming (we hope anyway) I ordered the regular Stabilyx and the capri version. The regular stabilyx tights give me the same top performance the insulated ones did. If you want the tights to do what CW-X say they do--GO WITH the size recommendation!! I will not run in anything else! SOLD for life!

Great support

I definitely feel the support. In fact, I really notice it when I'm already sore and then put the tights on. Maybe it is mental, but I literally feel better. They are not very warm. So if it is below freezing you will want more on your legs. Otherwise I've been very happy. They do fit pretty tight, so expect good compression. They are also a little short. I am 5-9 and 132 lbs. I got mediums and they are a tad short for my taste.

AMAZING!!

These tights are amazing! I thought they might be a gimmick, but they are absolutely fabulous! My measurements weren't even on the chart, so I was perplexed as to which size to choose. Small or Med??? I am 5'9" and 130ish, athletic/hourglass build. I tried one of each and either could work, but opted for the med since they gave me more length and the higher rise gave more back support. The stablix is a great all around support tight. I have some of the other styles and they're all fab, but this one probably has the most areas covered as far as support. They wash up well (I don't dry them). I've used them a lot and they still look and feel great! Once you try them, you'll be hooked!

Hey,

Unfortunately it doesn't look like we have any more coming in stock at the moment. It might be a while.

Superhero Tights

I've been suspicious of the idea that a pair of tights can really make a difference, but finally shelled out the $$ to give these a try as recovery tights based on a friend's recommendation. Wow -- I am sure glad I did! Activities that normally leave me feeling creaky (a week of backcountry skiing, all-day bike climbing sufferfests, etc.) no longer do. I just pull on the tights for a few hours after the adventure, and not only can continue to stay upright long enough to cook dinner and chase my daughter afterward, but also can ride hard again the next day.

125lb, 5'5", big cyclist thighs. According to the size chart on the CW-X website, this is a size S (weird, because I wear a M in almost everything else), but the S fits quite well -- just takes a minute or so to work them into place. They felt great right out of the package; the knee stabilization is particularly noteworthy.

not good

The inside raised seam in the crotch is way too uncomfortable simply trying them on to imagine doing any athletic activity in them. And unsightly on the outside the way it digs in. They otherwise fit.

excellent, by beware of size

I am 175 cm (about 5'7")and 58 kg (about 124 pounds), and size M barely fits me. So please before you remove the tag from these pants make sure they fit you good. The length from the knee to upper thigh could be longer for size M, it would have helped a lot. For running or gym training pants are excellent. I had both shins broken with furhter microcirculation problems, these pants allow me to increase my workout time and reduce recovery time.

Wondering--Do the grey ones tend to show sweat? They look neat and would like a pair, but will order the black if I need to.

The gray pair I received about 3 weeks ago looks much darker than the pic, which is actually a good thing for me. I don't think you can really see a difference in color when they are wet/dry - I live in Phoenix, so this is a concern for me too. :)

Exactly what they say...

I love these tights. I went running on a cold day and it rained/snowed for the last 3 miles of my run. My legs felt dry the whole time. When I was done I bent over to prop myself against my knees due to tiredness. My hands got soaked. The tights pulled the moisture away from my skin keeping me dry! I also love the way they hold my imperfect body together with less shaking ;). My knees don't ache after I run anymore.

Old question but these are designed for a tight compression fit and if that makes you uncomfortable you may want to move up one size.
