The CW-X Men's Insulator Pro Zip-T is a close-fitting top that begs to be worn on winter runs and cross country ski tours. The patented Conditioning Web has been perfected through years of testing to support key muscle groups. This system improves your performance and reduces the chance of injuries. Thumb holes keep the sleeves sealed against the cold winter wind while you cruise down the trail. The Insulator Pro Zip-T is made from Auto Sensor temperature regulating fabric that adjusts to maintain a comfortable surface temperature under any conditions. Wear the Insulator Pro Zip-T as a lightweight base layer in cold weather or on its own when the winter day is bluebird and you're ready to hit the trail.

Bottom Line: Perform better and reduce injuries with the Insulator Pro Zip-T

Good insulator

I really like the support and it does a great job of keeping temperature regulated. I was also impressed with how well it kept wind from making things cold. Keep in mind that this is top is skin tight. I have a lean build and its definitely form fitting. Hardest part is putting it on and taking it off. But comfortable once you get it on. Would definitely reccommned it if you want warmth without the bulk.

Nice top

By:
July 22, 2008

These shirts run tight, so I would recommend going up one size (I'm a skinny 5'9" 140 lbs and I feel like a sausage in my small size although I can fit in it. I also have a medium which is less compressing). While I do think it helps my posture and helps avoid neck/shoulder stiffness... overall I like the long underwear bottoms better (compared to regular long underwear tops and bottoms).

The material is very comfortable and indeed does seem to handle a wide range of temperatures well... I've worn it snowboarding in the winter (with a windproof shell) like 35-40 degree weather and then again hiking the glacier snow in July in 60-65 degree weather (feels like 75-80 in the sun when you are wearing snowpants and a shell). While it was a little cold in the former and a little warm in the later, I really haven't worn anything else that could handle such a temperature range at all.

Is this shirt an intended as a baselayer for skiing? Is there

Is this shirt an intended as a baselayer for skiing? Is there much insulation qualities to it, in the picture the material looks quite thin.

Yes, this is one of my favorite baselayers for skiing. Don't let the thinness fool you, it's actually quite warm.I had many a days this winter with just my robot clothes (CW-X gear) and my Backcountry.com softshell down to 10° or so. If it's colder than that, I'd mix in a midlayer for myself.

Excellent Upper Body Support

By:
December 5, 2007

I wore this top on several of my long runs while training for an ultramarathon, and then during the race as well. IMO, the support web functions really well. On runs longer than 2 hours, I used to get pain and fatigue in my shoulders and upper back; this top eliminated that by supporting the muscles, reducing bouncing, and improving my posture. It sheds wind and insulates well enough to wear into the low 30s. Any colder, and I would recommend an additional layer

Is this shirt used only for "cold" days? I have a friend

Is this shirt used only for "cold" days? I have a friend who claims he uses this shirt year around in 90degree weather. Does this sound right ?

No, this top is a baselayer intended to keep your warm. It wicks a bit, so its nice under your fleece or down. I even use mine as a baselayer when bike commuting and I don't seem to get chilled as easily.

Great Shirt, very warm

By:
November 21, 2008

I wore this shirt on a longer run in the northeast after work in November, it was about 30 with a mild wind and my upper body was perfectly warm. The shirt worked so well I just bought the tights for running in the winter.

It worked for me

By:
January 3, 2006

I bought this top as a base layer for in bound skiing. I like the fact that it has insulation (much better than my old ColdGear by UnderArmor). I like the support that it provides. The thumb loops can be a bit of a pain, but they're worth it. It keeps the top in place so it won't ride up like others I've owned.

Good technology in top

By:
October 4, 2005

I've used CW-X tights in the past, but this is the first CW-X top I own. I highly recommend trying this upper body wrap system. It makes a tremendous difference in supporting my upper back area and I don't get tired as easy. The fabric is very nice and keeps me warm when temps fall below 50 but it's not too hot either. I would recommend this product to anyone who participates in winter sports.

A real disappointment.

By:
March 15, 2006

I bought the CW-X pants and they were good. So, I bought the CW-X top and it was horrible. I wore it on a 38F day, sweated like never before, and therefore, I felt like I was literally running in a cold, drenched shirt the whole time. I thought it was supposed to be like dry-fit. Hardly. I was really disappointed.

CW-X top

By:
April 14, 2006

I got the CW-X pants earlier this winter. They were great, so then I got the shirt/top. It was horrible. It was really tight, and it obviously didn't "breathe" at all. I was sweating bullets at 25 degrees.

Nice top, it’s sized smaller than I'd expect since I can normally wear large to X Large shirts. I bought the X Large and it felt extraordinarily tight. Otherwise, this is a great top. It wicks moisture effectively and insulates quite well during vigorous exercise in winter outdoor weather. It washes well and dries quickly. It’s a good quality top. I'd buy it again, but in an XXlarge minimum, though I'm not that big of a guy.

Nice Product, as described

By:

Seems temp is best down to 30's after that more layering is needed. Be careful of windy days. Good fit, good support.
