Designed by famed knife-maker Allen Elishewitz, the CRKT Elishewitz Anubis Knife features a drop-point blade and durable handle that make for a knife almost too good-looking to use. Almost. CRKT built the Anubis with an AUS 8 stainless steel blade to give you maximum edge retention and cutting power, and a brass and Teflon bearing makes for easy opening with either hand. CRKT’s AutoLAWKS system uses steel-on-steel lockup that holds strong and virtually eliminates accidental closing. The ergonomic handle features a stainless steel frame and Zytel grip panels, and CRKT added a removable, stainless steel clip to keep the Anubis ready for action.

Bottom Line: A serious knife from a serious knifemaker.

When I took this out of the box I thought I had received the wrong item. The knife is plain heavy, however as soon as you start using it you will realize the advantages. The blade is "cut yourself" sharp, I know this because it has happened numerous times. The weight of the knife allows for good control, as well as a solid grip. It really does "fit" in your hand quite well. I have left this knife at home for backpacking trips because of its weight, however for everything else this is a perfect knife.

I own two of these CRKT Anubis knives as well as the CRKT Pharaoh here in Australia and they are just about as close as you can get to rock solid. I use one on a daily basis from skinning Kangaroos to splicing rope and opening boxes and packaging and have found them perfect. Yeah, right you say a little on the heavy side but they are steel on steel and none of those poxy alloy handles. When you hold it in your hands it feels custom made.I recommend you grab one while there still available as you'll kick yourself when there all gone!

You just take the scale off the button side of the knife and drop in the left hand spring avilable just about anywhere on the net and hey presto you got what you want! But make sure that you comply with your state or countries legislation less you become a criminal!

It is assisted, but not an auto. You can't just push a button and it pops out, but like most good knifes push the thumb stud correctly and the blade comes out fast enough.

Technically, it's not an Assisted Opening knife. AOs have a spring or something similar, you have to start the motion (usually get it like 35 degrees open) and then the spring takes over. Automatic knives (switchblades) are the ones that you push a button. This one is neither, as it just has a thumbstud opening. It does help in opening, but it's not an AO knife.

seriuos blade

This blade is legit. it's a little too heavy for my everyday blade, i roll with the crkt m16-13z carson, but it is a staple in my gear bag. My buddy scored me this as a gift for introducing him to the steep but i'm not so sure his wife is as stoked as he is! great blade lenght and super solid construction, this blade is indestructable. still have issues with the clip screws crkt continues to use but other than that i love their blades. I have three in my arsenal. if you are lookin for a heavy duty work knife to keeep in the truck or tool box, or love having spare blades in you gear bag like me, this blade truly is for you. if you want some pansy light weight wanker blade, look elsewhere.

Rock solid knife. A little on the heavy side. I don't notice it when it's in my pocket though.
