Crispi XR Dynamic Telemark Boot

Freeriding free-heelers turn to the Crispi XR Dynamic Telemark Boot for the stiffness they need to lay down big, powerful arcs on all types of terrain and snow. The injected Pebax shell is supplemented with carbon in the cuff, side, and outsole to reduce weight and add strength so expert tele skiers can have a direct and immediate energy transfer throughout the whole turn.

  • Three lean positions comfortably adapt to a variety of touring situations or in-bounds powder laps
  • The Power Extension Cuff Evolution cranks down with the hook-and-loop strap to add stiffness to the rear cuff, which delivers more power to the forward ski
  • Micro-adjustable aluminum buckles reduce bulk and enable you to dial in the perfect fit

Bottom Line: Don’t be afraid to get a stiff one.

Great boot - true to size

By:
March 22, 2011

Performance, warmth and comfort are off the chart compared to the Black Diamond and Garmonts that I have had. Shell stiffness and flex point is best I have skied.

Make sure you take extra care when selecting a size. Because the liners are so ergonomically shaped with fantastic heel stays I was lured into a larger 1/2 size than I should have.

My recommendation is to stay true to size - I am a natural US size 10 with medium volume and slightly wide foot. I went to a 28.5 mondo due to my wide foot and the boot was too big. I need a 28.1 and it accommodated my slightly wide foot just fine while also eliminating the excess volume that I could not fill up in the larger size.

Crispi's have the best bellows

By:
February 22, 2011

Having tested other brands over time, I feel the Crispis are the best flexing tele boot out there. The last is higher volume, and I’m not, but I’ve made adjustments to accommodate that I’m happy with.

I feel the bellow allow a greater range of motion through the ball, where the Garmonts and BD’s have a ‘terminal’ flex, so that after the bellows close, more flexion brings the ball of the boot off the binding. The direction of flex is in line with the fore-aft axis, unlike the Scarpa models, with their 'asymmetric' 'ergonomic' flex which seem to affect edging on the trail foot.
