    Broken after a couple uses

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

The part that pierces the canister fell off making the tool useless after a couple uses. It is also a failure mode you likely would not detect until your in dire need. With any luck you will have a friend with you who has an inflator that works. I had to call my wife for the recovery very of shame. I'm not the only one who saw this problem. Should I return it?

    I only pump gas...not air

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Sometimes you just need to plan for the worst....I have tubeless tires, but got the Crank Brothers CO2 Inflator + 2 Cartridges as a back-up just in case I experience a fabled flat tire, and need to put air in an old school tube.

The head is compact enough that I was able to attach it on the outside of my saddle bag, while the CO2 cartridges are inside the bag with my tube.

I haven't had to use it yet, and hopefully its a LONG time before I truly need it.

    Very compact, works great

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I had the unfortunate joy of putting this to the test on my road bike a couple of weeks ago. The inflator worked really well and was easy to use - screwing the C02 cartridge into the head pierces the seal, but C02 doesn't start flowing until you put this on the valve and press down. The grip itself is pretty small so it helps to have something to wrap around the C02 cylinder to keep your fingers from freezing.

This head is compact enough to easily fit in a small saddle bag with a tube and a couple of cylinders. It's ergonomic enough to make attaching to a valve stem easy without losing half of your C02 along the way

Left me hanging on third use

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

The first two times I used this inflator I was super impressed, unfortunately I will not be able to use it again and anyone else buying it should be aware that it is not perfect. I did not inspect the interior where the CO2 canister threads in when I first bought it, so I am not exactly sure how or what pierced the canister to allow air to flow when the device is attached to the tire valve. Apparently there is suppose to be something in there that apparently can break off. I was so impressed by this thing the other times I used it I foolishly did a 35 mile super remote ride yesterday and opted not to take my little hand pump as back up.... Big mistake. With about 8 miles to go I noticed my front tire was a bit low so I figured I would tank it up a little but with the inflator for the last couple miles. I screwed on a cartridge and noticed that I could not hear the sound of air escaping so I unthreaded it and tried again, several times. No go! So I ended up getting lucky and hitched a ride home. It seems like a great simple and very useful product but it must be made more reliable.

I had the same problem. I thought I must have somehow brought an empty canister with me and called for the recovery wagon. It wasn't until I was home that I took the canister out and wow it wasn't pierced and I felt a little redemption. I looked in the inflator and no part to pierce the canister. Feel like sending it back!

    In love with this item!

Everyone knows if you ride on a road bike or a trail bike the last thing you want is a flat tire especially if you don't have a bike pump! Well, with this small, light wight and easy to use Co2 pump you can have peace of mind knowing that you're covered if you happen to get a flat. Nothing heavy to carry or complex to figure out. Screw in the Co2 cartage and you're ready to inflate you're tire!

      Good Price, Solid Design

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I really like this inflator. I've got a few other models and this is my preferred one to use. Plus it looks the coolest and probably was less expensive than my other purchases. Easy to use and hang on to and nothing but the bare essentials. Fits easily in my saddle bag and is a must-have on road rides, much better for me than dealing with a hand pump.

      Convenient

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This product is a great value. The price is competitive with other options, and they very conveniently package it with a couple co2 cartridges so that you are ready to rock. It's not the cheapest option by any means, but the slightly more ergonomic and user friendly design is worth it to me. It is nice to have something more to hold on to than the super minimalist styles in my opinion, but still takes up very little space. If you haven't made the jump to a co2 inflator yet, try it out! It's amazing, and will definitely change your outlook on flat tires a little bit. From "oh my god should I just throw this bike down the cliff now" to "bahhh, this stinks but at least I have my co2 with me so I wont have to pump for 3 hours."

Having more experience actually getting (having) to use this on the trail I wanted to add, the spring loaded deployment system on this thing is incredible! Makes it super easy and consistent to use. Bumping to a full 5 stars, this is something I'll always have with me on the trail.
