Lighter and stronger.

Crankbrothers??? new design for the Candy 11 Pedal features a more durable and lightweight construction, making it the perfect clipless pedal for pro-level XC/race applications. The new Candy 11 uses aluminum for the body and titanium for the retention wings, spindle, and inner sleeve to maximize strength without sacrificing weight. The alloy body provides a larger platform than the Eggbeater. Like the Eggbeater, though, the Candy 11 offers 6?? of float and includes two-bolt cleats compatible with any mountain bike shoe. Crankbrothers??? brass cleats feature a subtle asymmetrical design, offering you a 15?? or 20?? release angle depending on how you install them. Also, the softer brass cleat ensures that the pricier parts in the retention system don???t wear first. Also, the Candy 11 can be easily disassembled, so servicing the pedals is quick and convenient.

  • Two-piece aluminum body surrounds the four-sided titanium retention wings
  • Ti spindle and inner sleeve
  • 6?? of float
  • Two-bolt brass cleats
  • Easy to service

Very good pedals

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Very confortable! Ease to Clip, light, goog grip and eye catching! The color is more to gold than yellow.

Very good pedals

Can these be used with Road shoes?

Responded on

Yes, but you will need a model of shoe with the 2 SPD style holes in the sole .

Inaccurate Weight Listed

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These pedals are great, but the 177g weight listing is absolutely incorrect. I have these pedals and weighed them. Each pedal weighs 117g, total of 234g. I chatted with someone at CC, alerted them, yet it remains incorrect. Thus, the writeup is also incorrect.

Responded on

Matt, thanks for the input. We have over 500,000 different item skus before you look at varients like size and color so it takes the guy that does this some time to get things updated. If it says actual weight on our site, we actually weighed it and didn't take a manufactures word for it. That said, we weigh everything including bolts and cleats. My guess is the 177g weight is one pedal, cleat and the mountin bolts.

Gold Digger

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

It's hard to miss the eye-catching hue of the anodized body, but that's hardly the best thing about the Candy 11's. Although, it does look fresh...
They are the easiest pedal to clip into - off the start line, I can usually nail it in first try. They feel super solid under my foot, and feel stiffer than other heavier systems I've used.
Crank Brothers pedals are pretty well known for their mud and snow shedding capabilities and the Candy 11's live up to the hype. I've gone on muddy hike-a-bikes and clipped back in while my riding buddies are still off in the woods looking for sticks to clean out their pedals and cleats. Sloppy cross races are where these pedals shine, too.
Cranks Brothers seem to have tackled their durability issues from a few years ago - I've used this pair for over a year, through a summer of XC racing, a fall of CX racing, and a winter of training in sloppy weather and have yet to experience any sort of play or wear-out.
