    Layer on performance.

A warm, comfortable base layer that works in all weather is what brought Craft notice. Everyone bought them, loved them, and wore them into the ground. The Craft Men's Active Crewneck Long Sleeve Base Layer is what they got first.

The key to its success was, and remains, the vertically-ribbed polyester fabric that creates pockets of warm air and was able to both wick sweat and channel vapor for maximum effect. For these to work to their maximum, they have to fit like a second skin. Flatlock stitching means you won't notice the seams as they hug your body.

The fabric now goes by the name Active, but it was once the proZero. It's good from 60 degrees Fahrenheit down as low as you can go.

The Craft Men's Active Crewneck Long Sleeve Base Layer comes in sizes from XSmall to XXLarge.

    My go-to baselayer

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: medium

Craft Baselayers are my go-to base layers. I use the active crewneck most of the time, and if its realllly cold then I'll switch to the Craft Active Extreme. I find myself using these in most situations between 30-50 degrees. They are warm and wick moisture well. I've been most impressed with their durability. I put them through the wringer, and don't care for them like I should, and they just keep on going. Exceptional quality.

Warmest base layer shirt I have

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: Small

On the coldest days I turn to this shirt for layering, since I know that it will keep me warm for most of my activities. It runs a little small, (while it fits well enough across the chest, the neck can at times be uncomfortably tight,) though the arms are enough to compensate for my longer-than-average reach.
It has on occasion had trouble with moisture not evaporating fast enough on a few of my colder weather rides, but the dampness usually isn't a problem. Besides that and the neck fit I would call this overall a great layer to invest in.

    Great classic long underwear top

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

Snug fit, great material, the longevity and quality that come with Craft. There are no fancy mesh areas or compression enhancements. Just your basic snug-fitting long underwear top with an extra long rear tail for staying tucked into cross country ski or cycling bibs. Had to buy a second as soon as the first arrived I liked it so much.

True to size if you're used to XC Skiing spandex fit (snug). I'm normally a medium in sizing and the medium is a perfectly snug fit.

    magical base layer

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

this is my favorite article of cycling clothing. In 20F windy weather I wear just this under a PI softshell jacket on 20mph dirt road rides and am comfortably warm, and when climbing it seems to take a long time to overheat. the magical part is that at the end of the ride, the base layer is completely dry despite persistent sweating. previously, my other base layers would be totally soaked from a similar effort.

worth noting that the sleeves do run short... I have short arms and the sleeves are a little short on me, fine while I'm wearing a jacket though. I wouldn't wear this without a jacket anyway since the sleeves are not compression fit so would be a little loose. docking one star for short sleeves.

5'9" 150 lbs, medium fits well aside from the sleeve length

    Short Sleves

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: Runs small

Super comfortable but the sleeves are shorter than I had expected from the picture. Looking back at the size chart, I now see the sleeves are quite short.
