how much protection will this give my legs in a fall? i want something to protect my legs without wearing dirt bike or mountain bike protection.

It'll give you decent protection for minor falls and scrapes as far as road rash, but if you bite it going 45 down a hill, it's going to get torn up. It's thick, but still just fleece.
