So you're looking for shades with polarized lenses that won't scratch like mad and with a sporty-looking design. Grab Costa Del Mar's Riomar Polarized Sunglasses with Costa 400 Glass Lenses. The Riomar Sunglasses' sleek frame works well for medium to large faces, while the polarized glass lenses cut down on glare and scratches. Costa Del Mar uses a LightWAVE glass that is thin and lightweight compared to ordinary glass lenses, so the Riomar shades won't feel super heavy on your nose.

Bottom Line: Sporty polarized shades that won't scratch in the blink of an eye.

These glasses have some weight, after a few hours of wear, the arms make behind my ears sore, leave marks on my nose and they slip on my face. not good for the recommended use, these sunglasses are more for a casual wear. though I think they are stylish

Glass lenses? Are they shatterproof? How about polarized? I

Glass lenses? Are they shatterproof? How about polarized? I wear progressive lenses, how about that? OK, I went over my 1 question, so sue me!

Hey Folks, just a little clarification point for all who wonder. Polarization has nothing to do with the "protection" of your eyes - this just refers to the glare reducing ability of the lens.
The "protection" a lens offers will need to be addressed separately. Such as "UVA and UVB 100% Protection" etc. Typically though, a nice pair of polarized lenses will have high-quality UV protection so that could be a safe assumption.

Costa Riomar glasses with glass lenses are not shatterproof. They are however scratch resistant. The great thing about Costa glasses is that they are all polarized, so your eyes are always protected.
