Although Mr. West may be the man of 100 voices, his pro model, the CoreUPT Colby West Ski, was designed for one purpose: halfpipe domination. And dominate it shall, thanks to a smooth-as-silk wood core wrapped in snappy fiberglass. The West rides out rugged transitions easily and pops off the lip like a firecracker laced with C-4. A heaping helping of sidecut carves up steep pipe walls and the true twintip design lets you take hits regular or switch. Other skis may have been built to handle the pipe, but the West, well, it was born to eat 22-foot walls for breakfast and podiums positions for lunch.
