More than your standard, run-of-the-mill fleece, the Columbia Zephyr Ridge picks up where other fleece jackets leave off. The Zephyr Ridge is made with Columbia's Omni-Wind treatment, which keeps wind out while remaining ultra-breathable to let moisture out and allow your body to regulate its temperature naturally. Omni-Heat thermal reflective material keeps the warmth where you need it, inside the jacket, and Omni-Shield treatment shrugs off all but the heaviest rain- and snow-storms.

  • Omni-Wind is windproof and ultra-breathable
  • Omni-Shield resists all liquids below 170 degrees Fahrenheit to keep you dry and clothes from becoming stained
  • Omni-Shield fabrics dry 3 to 5 times faster than untreated fabrics
  • Omni-Heat reflective liner reflects heat back in toward your body while allowing excess heat and moisture to escape
  • Drawcord-adjustable hem stops drafts from cooling your torso
  • Interior security pocket keeps valuables safe
  • Zippered chest pocket keeps your electronics or a snack convenient

What's the difference between the Deep Woods and the Deep Woods/Green Zip?

Best Answer Responded on

Thanks for pointing out that we are showing the same picture for two different colored jackets. The Deep Woods is the picture you see above. The Deep Woods/Green will have the same dark green on the arms and shoulders, but instead of grey it will have a light green on the lower part of the jacket.

I'm 5'9 165lbs, usually a medium, but my omni-heat pullover is a bit snug. What size would fit best for this jacket?

Responded on

As a general rule, pullovers tend to be a little more slim than their full-zip counterparts. I would still recommend a medium for you in the Columbia Zephyr Ridge Fleece Jacket.

What Every Fleece Dreams of Being

Rugged, lite, breathable, incomparable insulation, sincerely the best fleece I've ever owned. The zippers in the arm pits open to allow cool air in and hot air and moisture out. They really thought of it all when designing this fleece. I swore by North Face fleeces until I got this one as a gift. I'll never go back.

Excellent jacket

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Very warm jacket. Really comfortable too. This is much better than the TNF Denali Wind Pro that I got last year. At least the sleeves aren't super baggy, hahaha.

I don't know if it's the foil looking lining on the inside, but I get more static when I take this jacket off.

I'm about 150lbs, 5'6" or so, and got a Medium. Perfect fit.

Just what I was Looking For!

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Great Jacket!

Windproof, check! Breathable, check! Looks good, check! Arm-pit zippers, check! Handy and handsome chest pocket, check! 3-in-1 compatible, check (though zipper wasn't compatible with my VERY OLD shell - I didn't ever zip it in, anyway - just hooked the sleeves)!

The only "negatives" I have are: The shiny reflective liner sometimes gets some intersting comments when putting on / taking off the jacket (can't see it otherwise, even with jacket unzipped). But that can be fun getting comments (conversation starter). ...And...The jacket seems tight in the arms when wearing a thick layer underneath (like a sweatshirt or thicker). Not enough to make me consider a larger size, though. Probably never need a thick layer under it, anyway. It's pretty warm! I think it's because of the cuff seals, but I love the cuff seals when just wearing a base layer or regular shirt under it!! Would rather have them, than not have them!

On the ebony blue jacket, are the zippers black or orange? The picture on your site shows black which is what I want, but all the other one's I've seen has been orange.
