Description

Reflect on the three-in-one Whirlibird.

The Columbia Women's Whirlibird Interchange Jacket is ready for ever-changing mountain conditions. Bluebird at the base and blower at the top? No worries. The removable liner's thermal reflective lining and Omni-Heat insulation bring the warmth when you need it.

  • Waterproof breathable Omni-Tech membrane and fully taped seams on the shell fend off the snow as you ski a pristine powder line or take a digger in spring slush
  • Water- and stain-resistant Omni-Shield on the removable liner helps protect you from the light rain and melting icicles when you run post-ski errands
  • Omni-Heat reflective technology uses a dotted lining to reflect and retain your body heat while also wicking excess moisture, and Omni-Heat synthetic insulation adds to the heat so you can stay warm on storm days and chilly lift rides
  • Active fit reduces bulk while allowing for movement while you ski, snowshoe, or ice skate
  • Underarm venting ditches excess heat when you bootpack up a short pitch or have to dig your vehicle out beneath the snow
  • Cuff gaiters and an adjustable, snap-back powder skirt block out the cold and seal in warmth
  • Multiple internal and external pockets stash your tunes, ski pass, and other small essentials

I normally hate winter jackets. I bought this a month ago and am in love with it. The flexibility of the layers are great, the size is great- I went and ordered a little on the big side and went for the large, and I can fit a hoodie underneath for those really cold days because my car heat doesn't work. I have the blue and thought the plaid pattern was going to be more defined, but it still looks really good. Also, it is long enough to not let too much snow get in when you wipe out snowboarding and I have a pretty long torso! It has survived 4 days snowboarding, a freezing cold Pats game at Gillette, and numerous adventures hiking already. Hopefully more to come. Thanks backcountry!

This is the most uncomfortable jacket I have ever worn. I felt as though someone was trying to hang me up by my under arms. The cut is so tight that is all I could feel while out for a brisk walk. The hood must have been designed for someone with an abnormally long head and pencil neck. I couldn't even zip the coat all the way up, I felt as though I were choking.

I love this coat. I was initially worried about spending this amount of money for a coat but I'm glad that I did. It was really worth it. I ordered the green one. It's a beautiful vivid green. It's really warm without burning you up. It really protects you from the elements. I usually wear a medium but I like for my coats to be a little roomy so I ordered a large. Large is perfect. The only thing that I'm worried about is the white inner part of the coat. The green is stain resistant but I'm not for sure about the white. This is my only worry. The coat is made very well. Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase.

I received several 3-way jackets from BC last night - and really like this one. One-hand hood-cinching, and the hood comes up further covering your ears on the sides unlike some other jackets that are cut back too far. (I have lived in SE Alaska - the Tongass National Rainforest - for 11 years, and as such now know EXACTLY what such wet, side-ways weather demands!) The shell is nice and the liner has that inner cuff that you loop over your thumbs. Not too noisy with movement. The only thing I don't like is that weird white on the front zipper pocket. Might try to black marker it out =). Nice shaping. YEAH!
