Should be a few inches above the knee, that's where a lot of Columbia stuff falls.

It will definitely be above the knee. 3-4 inches from the top of your knee depending on your leg length (I have long legs).

Take another look. They are specifying that they are showing the back of the shorts. That's why it says "Abyss Back", "Amazon Back", "Heatwave Back", etc.

These are fantastic shorts at a fantastic price. The nylon material loses nothing in durability to its incredible light weight and quick drying. Great shorts for the water and for whatever other activities you may be looking forward to.

Bought these for a two week trip to Costa Rica, and they exceeded my expectations. I wore them most of the time when I was at sea level. They are the fastest-drying clothes I've owned, once completely drying in two hours with the help of a small fan. The zippered back pocket came in very handy when I wanted to get wet but not leave valuables on the beach. The shorts stayed on while I was body surfing in ten foot waves or standing or swimming under a heavy waterfall. They dealt easily with both hot and cold water swimming and class V rapids. They also stood up to rappeling down a 75-foot waterfall, where the harness put stress on the shorts. They looked good enough not to bother the fish when I was snorkeling, though no one mistook me for a surfer dude.

The only drawback: the front pockets turn inside out in strong currents and waves.
