Ok jacket

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I've worn this jacket in 15-20 Degree F windy weather with a lightweight soft shell underneath and I didn't get cold. It is a little loud and stiff. The zipper is a little stiff and a little difficult to start the zipper and break away. The side pockets are huge, they go almost all the way up to my armpits, I'm assuming they would double as vents for warmer days. I got this jacket to be an exterior layer for when I go snowshoeing or hiking out to backcountry. I haven't got to do this yet but I think it will work well enough for the job, but could have definitely been a litter quieter and not so stiff.

Nice jacket with limitations.

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

I purchased this jacket but returned it after trying it for a few days. I didn't try this jacket much in the elements so can't really speak much to it's technical aspects but it didn't seem warm at all even at 45-50 degrees.
That said the jacket had a few issues that I really didn't like and I didn't think it was worth the price even at over 50% off retail. The fabric is really stiff and noisy which seems cheap for a $300+ jacket. It also lacks pockets with two just two huge hand pockets and one very small interior pocket. It does have what appears to be a goggle pocket inside but with the snug athletic fit of the jacket I consider it somewhat worthless. Even my cell phone protruded seemed odd in the small interior pocket. One other issue is that the pit zips seemto be located or constucted poorly and are uncomfortable.

On the plus side this is a pretty sharp looking jacket and I think it would be great for active pursuits at 30-40 degree plus weather. I'm 5'11 and 175 and the large fit well.
