Even if you’ve just spent six hours scrunched into coach class next to a pack of screaming kids, you’ll emerge looking cool and composed when you’re wearing the Columbia Women’s Timeless Travel Skirt. The stretchy polyester knit sheds wrinkles even after you’ve been trapped in your seat for hours, and it dries so quickly you hardly feel the soda the boy next to you dropped in your lap. Once you’ve arrived, just pull a few dollars from the hidden front security pocket, get yourself a latte, and that whole trip will be but a memory.

Bottom Line: The savvy traveler’s trick to arriving looking fresh.

Vital for 2 weeks in Europe!

By:

Just returned from a two week/five country trip through Europe with my husband and two kids. This skirt was awesome! I used it as a skirt, pulled up the fold-over waist to make a strapless dress (added a crop sweater) for dinner in Paris, wore it to the Vatican, and for sightseeing in Rome in August. It even rescued me when the zipper on my dress for a wedding in Germany broke. I put this skirt on, added a yoga tank top, a 3/4 sleeve black sweater, and a necklace. Everyone thought that was my intended outfit for the wedding! Wash it in your hotel's sink, hang it over a door, and it will be dry by morning.

The fabric is flowing and drapes well in addition to sending wrinkles on their way. I love the way that the hem in back is longer than the front so that when you sit down you do not have bare flesh on a grungy subway seat. I am 5'6" and a size 8 and the medium fits well. I have admittedly short legs and the front is just around the knees and the back is a couple of inches below but it is not at all dowdy as I feared it would be. I got the grey which matches just about everything and I came back for the black because this skirt will have a million and one uses and never need ironing. I wore it the other day and got loads of compliments on my cute new skirt and I'm sure that you will too.

Is the fabric light weight? Would you want to wear it in fairly high heat and icky humidity?

I agree. I live in Florida and it feels great even in the revoltingly hot and humid summers here.

not only is it lightweight, it will flow without getting too sticky on the skin.

super cute and functional

I bought this skirt in gray as a casual summery bottom half, that was not shorts or capris. It turned out to be a lot nicer than I imagined. You can dress this skirt up, (I wore it to a military funeral service) or dress it down (I've worn it to multiple bbqs and running errands). My only complaint is that, at least on the gray, any wet shows up glaringly. When my dog runs up to say hello I invariably get a big 'ol smear on my skirt from his slobbery mouth. As soon as it dries the spots go away, but if you are at all embarrassed about that sort of thing (looking like you may have peed your pants), I would recommend the black.

Wondering if anyone knows if it is 28" at it's longest

Wondering if anyone knows if it is 28" at it's longest or in the shorter front? Wanna make sure it is "modest" enough for the countries I am goin! Thanks

To the best of my knowledge we measure the inseam on the shortest part of the garment, so 26'' should be the shortest measurement.

good quality but WARM

A part of me really liked this skirt. I bought one in grey and black. I thought it would be the "perfect" summer skirt - but found it quit warm and the fabric did not breathe well. I thought of saving it for the fall - but it is snug around the back side - so I do not think tights would have worked with it. Wish it would have worked - great quality fabric. Returned it.

Nice...but warm.

Really like the fabric, well made and all. But I found it pretty warm to wear on a 90 degree day - not enough "breathability". Was looking for something I could wear outside during the summer. More of an indoor/ AC skirt.

I have one in gray and one in the black. As soon as it's out of the laundry I'm wearing it again. The skirts travel REALLY well - no wrinkles and very quick to dry.

The skirt I received was significantly longer in the back than in front, maybe 6 inches. It's a cute skirt, but the difference in lengths made it look like I was hiking the skirt up in front and forgetting to do the back.
