Columbia designed the Women’s Elektra Parka with a waterproof breathable shell and a snap-out fleece liner so you can wear one or both pieces depending on the weather. The Omni-Tech shell fabric seals out everything from deep powder snow to a spring rainstorm, and the lightweight thermal fleece insulates whether its under the shell on the slopes or by itself on a chilly fall day. Columbia added an adjustable, zip-off hood and a stretchy powder skirt to seal out nasty storms, and zippered underarm vents to let you dump excess body heat.
Bottom Line: Fully charged versatility for any mountain conditions.

I received this jacket as a gift for the holiday (but only after much of my own research, of course) and it has definitely been my favorite gift! I LOVE green, and it's definitely the perfect lime green. Not too obnoxiously bright, but not too pale. The inside accent color is brown, and the inner layer is sooo soft. The only thing I find a bit annoying about it is that the inside layer snaps in, it doesn't zip in, so I find it easier to put on one layer at a time. Not a huge deal considering how warm the jacket actually is. I haven't tested it out with any skiing or snowboarding, but for everyday wear in lower than -15 degree northern new england weather, it's fabulous. Very stylish, and fit me perfect--true sizes! The arms aren't too short, and the back is just long enough that it covers my back when I bend over. Overall, awesome jacket, great color, very warm, and super stylish. Go Columbia!
The specs say zip-out liner included because it has zip-in compability.

As long as you ordered the parka and not just the shell it should come with both the shell and the liner attached.

sorry to ask kind of the same question...so when you say they
sorry to ask kind of the same question...so when you say they are indepedant of of each other, does this mean that you have to unzip the liner and then also unzip the fleece to remove the jacket? (b/c with the zip-in 3-in-1 jackets, you just unzip the liner and both the fleece and liner are attached)

so, i know that the liner "snaps in"....so, what does that mean? are the zippers for the fleece loose on the inside of the jacket? i guess what i'm asking is how many snaps are on each side and where are they? (i'm just used to the zip-in fleece idea)

Correct, the zipper for the fleece and the shell are independant of eachother. This means there is less bulkiness in the front of the jacket but you still get all the benefits of our interchange system!
