My daughter goes to college in VT and the campus is pretty large. This fall the rain, when it came m\in, was wind driven, and she was getting soaked every day it did. She has sent me texts thanking me more than once for this jacket... She says it keeps her dry under even the worst of conditions. We can't rate it high enough. Hope this helps if performance is what you need.
this one does not have pit zips, to keep it slim and unbulky under the arm. Some say that with OmniTech's breathability, pit zips are not necessary

The outside reflects water and keeps me dry and warm. I love the light fleecy interior and lined pockets - very comfy. I would buy this again and highly recommend it.
