Columbia Sun Scape Sandal - Men's - 2009 BCS

I HAVE OWNED ONE OTHER PAIR OF COLUMBIA SANDALS, THEY LASTED ME FOUR SUMMERS, UNTIL THE STRAPS FINALLY BROKE. I LOVED THOSE SANDALS. I BOUGHT THESE THINKING THEY WERE AN EQUAL REPLACEMENT, BUT ONLY TO BE VERY DIAPOINTED, BY MY PURCHASE. COLUMBIA HAS CHANGED THEIR MATERIALS ON THESE SANDALS TO BE LIGHT WEIGHT, BUT IN RETURN SACRAFICED COMFORT AND DURABILITY. ALSO THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO HAVE AN ANTI ODOR SOLE, AND IT IS ANYTHING BUT, MY NEW SANDALS SMELL WORSE THAN THE ONES THAT ARE FOUR YEARS OLD. ALSO THEY ARE SOLD TO BE USED IN WATER, BUT THE SANDALS TAKE FOREVER TO DRY OUT. I AM A HUGE SUPPORTER OF COLUMBIA PRODUCTS, JUST NOT THESE SANDALS.

I bought these sandals to wear when I'm kayaking, but they're so comfortable I wear them for everything. I do think the sizing ran small, as I had to return the first pair I ordered and exchanged them for a larger size. By the way, the exchange/credit process with Backcountry was smooth and easy.

I bought these sandals to replace the Columbia sandals I about wore out from constant wear during the warm seasons. These are much lighter and I like the styling better. They look great for street wear and I don't feel like I am dressing down when I go on the town. . The best improvement is the fold up heel strip. On my other pair I had to remove and replace it up front and usually just laid the straps aside and misplaced them. Great value for the dollar and the Backcountry service is great.

Better fit than other sandals I have owned.
Does not feel like you're slipping around in them even when wet.
