I love these pants. They are really comfortable, very warm (I only wear a light thermal underware underneath and if anything I am hot), and there is very little velcro which I have grown to hate the more I ski/snowboard as it sticks to everything. Someone wrote in their review that these pants look slimming. I definitely do NOT think that is true, but they do not make you look larger than you are which is nice in ski pants. This wasn't important to me so I gave them 5 stars.

These are great basic snow pants. My 9-yr-old is just about out of size 12, so I got the size 14-16 and took up a few inches length with a seam around the inside lining fabric just below the knee. They look a little baggier that way but will last two seasons.
The adjustable waist is just velcro tabs on each side, not elastic through the waistband, so a belt may also be needed if you have to take the waist in very far.

Just smaller. So if you order a 14/16 it will be a 16 or you can tighten it up to a 14
