When you need more coverage than a short can provides but don’t want to roast in long pants, pull on the versatile, breathable Columbia Silver Ridge Women’s Capri Pant and hit the trail. I haven't taken these out on a hike yet, but they've been great for everything else -- comfortable, and always very crisp and together-looking. The Shale color goes well with just about every shirt I own, too.

I ordered both a 6 and 8 since according to the size chart I could be either with 38" hips. The 6 was creating those lovely whiskers around the hip area, and the 8 was OK around my hips, but huge at the waist (I have a 27" waist). I have a couple other Columbia bottoms (Mumbai Mover and Zambia Zen) which both fit very well in an 8. Fabric seems to be very lightweight and conducive to outdoor pursuits.

I like these a lot. They are a very lightweight fabric. The only thing I would like to see is some sort of built-in waitband adjustment, either velco or button tabs, or maybe a tiny but of elastic. At least they have belt loops.

These will keep you very cool. And the fit is great. Honestly, I'm in love. I'm tempted to buy another pair for when these wear out.
