Description

Toes in the sand. Head in the clouds.

The sand between you toes feels divine as you climb out of your canoe and pull your river map from the cargo pocket on your Columbia Women's Sandy River Water Cargo Short. The short's relaxed fit leaves you plenty of room to frolic along the beach, and the quick-dry fabric won't stay wet for long if you decide to take a swim. A UPF rating of 30 helps protect your skin from the sun's rays, and a built-in stash pocket secures your car key so you can get back home when your summer river excursion is done.

My everyday shorts around the house or hiking and boating. I am 5'3" 150# and bought the large. I like a little room and these fit just the way I like them to. I like all the pockets so I can carry the often used things so I don't have to stop and dig in my pack so often. I have 4 pair and will be buying more for sure!

I'm 5' 5", 118 pounds. I tried on some other Columbia shorts and fit a size 6. Would a small or medium work better?

Likely a small. There is a sizing chart near the "Select options" dropdown menu that should be a good resource. Best of luck!

Great shorts. They are comfortable and great for wearing to the beach or on a hike. Like the zipper pocket.

I love the feel of these shorts. The belt is nice and the pockets are handy. I wish they could be a little longer, however. The fit is true to size.

I am 5 ft, 97-100 lbs, 64 yrs, a grandma. I got the xs and they fit great.
I would have preferred 8 in inseam but the 6 in is OK.
I started out with 3 pair, liked so well I got other colors.
I soon realized I really liked them so I got more. I now have 2 pair each of 6 colors. Half of them I wear for walking, hiking, running and the other half for daily wear. I remove the belts, don't use at all. I never snap or zip them, just slip on and off. My favorite thing is how quickly they dry. I also like all the pockets. The colors are really pretty. I wash and hang to dry.
I believe Columbia has discontinued this style..too bad...but I 'm set!

Wish you could sell me your excess 5-10 belts..... I might buy the shorts just for the belt, it is what I am looking for.

These are very comfortable, lightweight but a little short in length for me - I prefer my shorts mid thigh length. Dries quickly, great for water activities. This was my first time shopping Backcounty.com. I love it!

These are my new favorite shorts. I bought them in nocturnal, which is a great deep navy, and doesn't contrast much with the deep gray belt. I purchased them for a canoeing trip, but now wear them just about every weekend because they are comfortable, flattering, and sporty. I am 5'3", weigh 130 pounds, and the medium fit really well.

it fits like it's supposed to. roomy around the thighs, belt helps it stay nice and tight around the hips.

i enjoy the pop of color (teal). it's got good pockets, too.

i've worn it rafting, camping, moving houses and just chillaxing and it's been all around grrrreeat.
