Love this jacket,in fact this is my second one, my 21 yr old daughter took my first one. Long enough to cover most of the important areas so no need to carry an umbrella. Rolls up and fits in my backpack or pruse perfect jacket light weight but warm when layering.
I love this jacket! It's been a rainy winter here in the Bay Area and this jacket is perfect for staying dry and looking stylish at the same time. The coat is lightweight, but with layers it can be warm and toasty. The brim on the hood is a nice feature, though it could be a bit wider. The fit is true to size. I first purchased the pink coat, but sent it back because it was too bright for my tastes (I was hoping for a deep red, but it was a bit orangey/pinky). The black one is exactly what I wanted.
I have been looking for a jacket like this one for a long time, it is perfect, I travel a lot and need a hooded rainproof jacket that is not warm and not bulky, the length makes it practical and flattering, I love it and am so impressed with the service from back country

I returned this one because I did not like the color. I purchased the pink coat, but It was just too bright (as some one said, it was a bit orangey/pinky)... much more bright that how it looks in the picture. The fit is true to size.
Fits great with enough room for layers under it. Made well and durable. Has kept me warm and dry in Colorado wind and rain. Hood fits good and I can wear my fleece hat under it. I thought the Melon color was really nice in the picture but when I opened the package it "jumped out" at me. Very bright but I still like it and it looks really good on me. The length is great, fitting just below my butt, arm length is perfect. I would definitely recommend this jacket.
I am not understanding... Melon is available above in a L. there are no two-tones in this jacket this season. Sometimes specifications will detail the color of the stitching, and I have seen no specs that call out a toanl Roe thread color. I hope this helps
I returned it. I ordered a M and the fit was not flattering, the sleeves and hem too long, the shoulders were the right size, though so I will not be ordering a S, I think I will just order a different brand.
I now live in a city where I take public transit everywhere so at 29, this is my first raincoat since I was a kid and had the unbearable hot one with plaid on the inside. Thank goodness raincoats have come a long way. I got the Columbia raincoat in black and was very pleased. When it was drizzling, i didn't feel like I had to be a prisoner in the coat to stay dry, and when the rain started coming down pretty heavy, I could easily adjust the hood for a tighter, drier fit. All of the pockets with zippers were helpful so I could store things like subway passes in dry places without having to go into my purse. The ventilations helped my stay reasonable cool though it was hot and humid out. As a walking commuter it did start to get a little warm in the jacket, but it wasn't unbearable. Dries fast when you're in the inside and folds up nicely to stick in your purse.
I bought this coat because I take public transportation one hour each way to and from work in chicago and have ruined many an umbrella standing outside in the rain waiting for a bus here in the Windy City. This coat was perfect, I'm 5'3" and 110lbs and the XS fit like a dream. I got it in black and it looks good over any color of scrubs I wear to work. I love that the coat breaths so that I'm not sweating underneath it. The only down side is that the hood has a hard time staying on... and if I'm wearing a pony tail it's guaranteed to fall off my head while running to catch a bus. I'm thinking about buying a hat to wear with it.... but for now it'll do. It has a bill that looks kind of cheesy but the rest of this coat is so awesome I don't mind. The coat has three pockets, two on each side and one breast pocket on the inside which is nice. I"m very happy with the product.
By far, this is the most comfortable, stylish and working raincoat, I've ever purchased. As I tend to mail-order most of my clothes, I spend an agonizing amount of time analyzing, researching and reading reviews. I'm normally a 4-6, but I like to layer and hate to feel constricted, so i went with the Medium - it fits perfect; a fleece underneath works. It's headed to mid-90s with high humidty and storms today - had this on the early morning waiting for the train - it seems to breathe well, so I can step out of A/C and into heat with it on and still be comfortable.
Great jacket for traveling! It's light weight so it packs small and keeps you dry. I took it to Japan for a 2 week trip and many of the days it was drizzly, rainy and even got a little snow. Through all that, it kept me dry. I like the extra length on this jacket for extra coverage. Zips up great with the hood on. Because it is only a shell, I recommend layering to suit the weather you're in. The advantage of that is for places where it's warm and still rains. This jacket would be perfect!
This is a great rain jacket - the perfect grab 'n go, both functional (keeps you dry) and stylish. You can't beat the price, and now it's on SALE! I do wish it was a tiny bit roomier, but otherwise, it's perfect for our Pacific Northwest rainy season.
I'm sorry that I had to send this back, so I never found out how it was in the rain. I was sorry because the price was so good. I'm usually a medium 36B up top, but I found that this was too tight a fit around the shoulders in order to layer with a fleece. Would have been fine as just a summer shell, but I use a shell in all weather with different amounts of layers and I felt that my arms had no mobility.
Cheaper than the other ladies coats that are comparable in the North Face and Marmot lines, and the melon is the cutest color! Take advantage of this price!
Yup...this one's a keeper! Get 'em while you can! Fantastic rain and general all purpose jacket for early M'west spring, including cold winds and lotta, lotta rain! Others admire it..stylish and fits in a most feminine way! Great pockets too! Wear tp work or play. However, do order a size LARGER than usual: Columbia runs a size smaller than the usual American sizing!
Got this for an upcoming trip to Scotland but have already used it in the spring rains... I have to say, it's great! It kept me very dry and regulated my temperature - when it was cool, I was warm, when it was warm, I was not hot. I really like the fabric. It's the kind that completely repels water but it's not that really rough, crunchy fabric that the outer shells of winter coats are made of. If that makes sense. The only drawback, and it's a minor one, is the hood isn't deep enough to wear over a ponytail. Hair down, it's totally fine. Awesome price, awesome buy.
I like this jacket. I bought it mainly because of the extended length. I do wish it had more than just the three pockets (2 hand, 1 inside chest), but I am adjusting.
I debated about whether to buy an XS or S and went with the S. I am 5'1" and 115 pounds. I usually wear petite 2-4. I think the XS would have been a more stylish fit, but the S will definitely allow me to layer a fleece underneath.
The fabric is slightly flimsy, but I think only in comparison to my last rain jacket which was nice and thick and quiet.
I would recommend this jacket. It is nothing fancy, but it is basic and long and does the trick!
I got this jacket in melon color, it fit great and the material felt very comfortable. Unfortunately I had to return this one because the color looked very different from the picture. The real one is more pink and too bright for me.
