Good jacket

I bought this ski jacket in medium-black. The size is right and the color also. The jacket fits very well and it is perfect for skiing. However, the jacket is very light and in the Quebec winter weather, it might not be enough because of the humidity. To fix this problem, I put a softshell under the coat and it was perfect. In a warmer weather like the mountain climat of New Mexico (dry and around 30 F) it is perfect. I recommand this jacket but maybe not for very cold weather unless you have a good base to put underneath.

Is this jacket waterproof enough for a day on the slopes while it is dumping? Are those real buttons or snaps made to look like buttons? Does the jacket also have a zipper under those buttons?

This jacket is definitely waterproof. I wore it while skiing in VT with some really wet snow, as well as around town while snowing. The snow beaded up on the jacket and did not soak in. Re: buttons, they are plastic buttons with snaps on the other side of the fabric, and a zipper underneath.

Absolutley. OmniTech is the most breathable membrane in the field of waterproof jackets. It will not get clammy, and it will move with you. The buttons are real buttons and there is a zipper behind them.

Cute ski jacket

I have this in XS, Black. I wasn't bold enough to try bright pink, and I would get white dirty too easily. I can only comment on sizing so far, as it hasn't been quite cold enough to warrant wearing this jacket yet, aside from walking the dog at night in mid 30s weather. I tried both the XS and S, as according to the size chart, I am in the Small range for bust, and right in between XS and S for waist and hip. I felt like I was swimming in the Small, and my husband agreed it looked too big on me, so I kept the XS. Even with the XS I have room to easily layer a mid-weight fleece underneath. I like a lot of the details on this jacket including the slightly asymmetrical front zip and the subtle 'gingham' pattern, making it more interesting than a plain black jacket. I love that this coat has the underarm zips for when I get warm while skiing; powder skirt for skiing; the detachable hood is nice, though I will probably leave it on most of the time, and there are velcro flaps near the sleeve cuffs so you can made the sleeves a little tighter. The actual sleeve cuffs are a nice soft stretchy material that helps keep the sleeves in place, and securely fits over my mittens. In addition to the three outside pockets, on the inside right there is also a zip pocket and a mesh (goggle?) pocket; and on the inside left there's a snap pocket presumably for an mp3 player with an elastic loop to feed headphones through. Hood and bottom hem have an adjustable drawcord for a better fit too. Overall, this is a great slimmer fitting ski jacket with lots of cool features. If you are looking for a slimmer fit and you are between sizes, my suggestion is to size down. I will have to update after this jacket goes skiing in Vermont with me later this month.

Good question, I would say my shoulders are more on the narrow side...maybe that was part of why I needed to size down. Maybe go with your usual size with broader shoulders?

Got a question about sizing...but although i generally wear a 6, the ski jackets have been tight across my chest and i'm not busty, but have broader shoulders/back i guess. You still recommend going a size down if in between?
