Hit the trail on a wet day—the Columbia Women's Packus Ridge Omni-Tech Hiking Boots will keep your feet dry. Columbia made the Packus Ridge with its Omni-Tech waterproof breathable membrane, which keeps rain and stream water out but also lets your sweat vapors escape. A contoured footbed and cush midsole absorb shock so you can hike longer. A nylon shank in the midsole provides torsional rigidity and support for your foot. The rubber outsole grips dirt, mud, and rocks to keep you upright.
Bottom Line: Enjoy dry feet when you hike in damp weather—lace up your Columbia Packus Ridge Boots.
I ordered the mud/flora hiking boots for a trip to Costa Rica in anticipation of ATV/ziplining and a volcano hike. Based upon the reviews of these shoes, I ordered 1/2 size larger and they fit perfectly (over lightweight hiking socks also purchased from Backcountry). I didn't have time to wear these before my trip to break them in and in an abundance of caution, I packed blister packs in the event that that was a bad idea. These shoes fit so well and were SO comfortable on the first wearing. I wore them through waist-high water and mud and my feet remained dry (although the boots were muddy). After a 5 hour ATV/ziplinig adventure, my feet were comfortable. Also, a 15 hour trip to an active volcano gave them the second test and again, they were comfortable and excellent on the volcanic rock trail. What a great hiking boot!!!
Hi, I use a European size 40. I have a long slim foot. I live in Darwin (tropic)at the moment. Going on trekking in the Kakadue Park. Very warm but dry. Would they be a good choice?
I'm not a big hiker (no hills to climb in Chicago). I bought these shoes for a Backroads multisport trip to the Canadian Rockies. Opening day for these boots was on a 6 mile glacier hike. They were perfect. I wore them the entire trip and felt like I'd had them for years. No break-in needed...not band-aides needed.

I had a pair of Columbia hiking boots which were fantastic but I get nerve pains in my right foot after a couple of hours as they are too narrow for me. Are these for a narrow fit too?
These boots feature Columbia's Contour Comfort which they say "A sock liner that interacts with the natural contours of the foot providing the ultimate in support and comfort". Also, If you hike in them and don't like them, you can ALWAYS return them to Backcountry. Give them a shot.
I recently got these boots and went on a 5 mile my first trip out and on the way we had 4 small streams to cross and i was dry as a bone. These are the best boots you wont believe it!! And great price!!
I bought a pair of Columbia W/P Logger Ridge Tusk Vintage Boot - YL6440 926 - Waterproof - I believe maybe last year or couple of years ago - what would be the model comparible to it now? Please inform. I do alot of walking all year but in the winter in the snow, trails, etc. Please let me know what you think.
Does this boot have good arch support? Does the boot run small, where you have to order a 1/2 sz bigger or does it run true to sz? Does it have a steel toe in case you have to put yak tracks or some other product to keep you from falling on icy roads or does it have enough traction? Does it have free shipping to and from?
These boots are nothing short of perfect. I've used them for hiking long distances and just for walking around my college campus (it's huge). They didn't require any breaking in although I did make sure to wear them around a lot before using them on a trip, just to be sure. I would definitely recommend these for any woman who wants a sturdy, waterproof, and comfortable boot.
I am very happy with them especially at this price! First time I wore them was on a 6 hour hike in the Italian Alps and they were great. My feet felt pretty good and my ankles were really protected. They are great for rocky environments!
