Made of lightweight, fast wicking Omni-Dry nylon, the Columbia Men's Silver Ridge II Cargo Pants are ideal for hiking in the spring and fall. With a UPF 30 rating they do an excellent job of protecting you from the sun on bluebird days. They also stuff into their own pocket, making a handy package that's easy to pack away if the weather moves in and you need to ditch them for something warmer.
Bottom Line: Light and fast (drying) pants that defend you from the sun like a really lightweight and comfortable suit of armor.
These pants fit the bill. Compared to other brands these pants are a good value. Comfortable, non restrictive while hiking, feel true to size.Dry quickly they seem durable for the thickness of the material. Lots of storage for small items. Ican't get over just how comfortable these pants are.
Sometimes you don't want a convertible pant. After a long days hike the zipper seam can get annoying. These pants are very lightweight and comfortable. I wear a 33W-34L in jeans and I find the 32" waist has plenty of give to fit my size. My outings are in the NM mountains and most of the time these pants are light enough that I don't need to wear shorts for comfort and the layer of fabric keeps those prickly plants at bay. There are more expensive outdoor pants, but I'll never need to try them because the Columbia feels great to me.

Does columbia make a comfortable lightweight pant such as, cargo in a dark royal blue? I need it for a uniform pant, I am a paramedic and our pants are dark royal blue. Thanks, tim
These pants work phenomenally on my recent backpacking trip. I orginally bought a pair at a local outdoor store and they didn't fit right so I ordered a pair off of here. The whole 14 miles, they breathed awesome, They are very lightweight and feel like you are wearing almost nothing. There are plenty of little pockets all over to store little nicknacks that you want on the trail. I do recomend these pants!
I am a Paramedic and it gets hot down here in the south. I need a comfortable pant ,but it has to look like my reg. uniform pant. I think this type of pant would work, but do they make it in a dark royal blue? I would appreciate a reply as soon as possible. Thanks, Tim
For the sizing... there is a letter (S, M, L, XXL for small, medium, large, etc.)...but what does the number following the letter stand for? Inseam? or waist?
Very suprized as to their lightweight nature and breath-ability. I have worn these in 90+ degree days and still have been comfortable. I imagine they would still work well in the cold with a pair of long underwear.
If planning to use the shorts, you must note that they are fairly short. I am 6'3" (average torso - leg ratio) and they come high above the knee. They are not the old school basketball short shorts, but short enough to worth mention.
The Titanium has one zippered full pocket in the right rear and one zippered half pocket in the right front. They work fine and good for securing things like a wallet or keys.
Do you stock Columbia Silver Ridge cargo pants in Large with 32" Inseam... all I see is 30" and 34" inseam. I know they make it in a Large with 32" (that is the "standard" inseam for Large size).
These are terrific! I am fond of the 'no lining' feature, as they can 'creep' on you if you are running a paddle with gusto. They were a little on the long side (inseam), but nothing a quite hem didn't fix.
I'm looking at the Columbia Omni-Dry Silver Ridge Cargo Pant - Men's, in the size options there is a S 32IN, is the S referring to the waist or inseam?
I work in a casual office and like to ride to work. Summers, this is a problem. It's cool in the morning when I ride in, and the air conditioning keeps it pretty cool at work, but it's very hot when I go home. These pants were the perfect solution, keeping me warm enough during cool periods, and cool enough when it's hot (and I don't have to slather on the sunscreen, either). All in all a very nice solution to a sticky problem.
Going through wet bushes on an overgrown trail, back in the sun, wife's pants were dry (different manfc)mine still soaking wet. Also only worn a couple of times and already showing lots of wear...
