Extremely light weight. Although they are very thin I was quite warm even on Pacific Northwest Winter hikes with only Poly pro underarmor under them. They dried very fast and wicked water away so I never felt wet even in the rain.
i hate to be coy, but i can say it's lighter than the Venture Convertible you asked about

It depends on your boots. My hubby and I get them off over our boots pretty easily

The only zipper for each leg is horizontal, not vertical. You still have to take your boots off.
