Durable, waterproof breathable Omni-Tech nylon canvas material makes the Columbia Men's Nail Gun Pants tough enough to hold up to lots of seasons on the slopes. Tree runs, park runs, yardsale crashes—these pants can handle it all. Their 10K waterproof rating ensures you stay bone dry when a big winter storm moves in and covers the hills with fluffy goodness. Columbia added inseam vents to the Nail Gun Pants to help you stay cool in warmer spring conditions.

Bottom Line: The Columbia Nail Gun Pants—strong enough to stand up to your riding style.

Comfortably rugged

These are excellent pants at a very good price. I am an aggressive, very low-stance telemark skier (area only), so I was a little worried about buying a pant that did not have suspenders. After using them once, I can tell that they are cut perfectly. The velcro waist adjusters did their job very well without being uncomfortable. I also ordered a Medium, and the above reviewer was dead on...I'm 32x32 and the fit was quite good. I have had a Columbia Titanium jacket for 7 years and after countless tight trees and gruesome wrecks, it is still practically new. These pants say Titanium on the label, and I have every confidence that I will get my money's worth many times over.

10K waterproofing means it has 10,000 mm per square inch of waterproofness (is that a word?) and 10K breathability means it has grams per sq. inch. To answer your question it's more waterproof than most people ever need. The rating can be achieved through different forms of testing. So some companies can in a sense "cheat" to their measurements of waterproofing. It is for this reason Columbia is getting away from such petty human weak ratings and calling it "Omnitech"

Tough as nails...

I have only had these pants for two ski trips, but am pleased with their performance. I was worried that they might not breath very well considering how tough their construction is. No problems yet. I have taken them out while it has been a 45 degree, sunny spring day and they were never uncomfortable. I also had them out on a three feet of powder day. Same base layer and no problems with being too cold. (I was skiing pretty hard though)The powder sticks to the fabric a little bit, but not as bad as I had thought it would. (no wet butt)
I ordered the medium which seems to fit my 32X34 pant size pretty well. They fit loose, but they stay up on the waist and don't look thug. Don't think I will ever wear out these pants.
