Description

Oops, strike three―no more field trips.

The day for the school field trip to the arboretum dawns rainy and cool; no problem, just send your girl to school with the Columbia Girls’ Lake of Lace Jacket and hope that perhaps the rain will appease her high spirits a little. The jacket’s Omni-Shield water-repellent fabric, taped critical seams, and storm hood keep her from getting soaked as she and her friends dash down the wooded paths and play hide-and-seek with the boys, ignoring the teacher’s commands. Unfortunately, this bright, colorful jacket, while keeping her dry, also makes it easy for them to pick her out of a lineup and send her to the principal’s office when they get back to school.

Great Jacket

A little on the short side, but my daughter is very tall. Very well made jacket that served her well on a multi-day "natures classroom" field trip to the ocean. The mesh lining is very nice, and she loved that it was packable. Would recommend.

Great jacket, wrong color description

This jacket in size 4/5 fits my four year old daughter well. We have not tried it in the rain yet. The color description of grape implies that the jacket is purple, but it is really more of a royal blue color. It is still really nice and cute for a young girl. She can't wait to wear it to camp next week.

Love it!

My daughter loves this jacket. It is lightweight, and perfect for Spring or Summer rainy days, or just cool ones. I love the hood--no need to carry an umbrella. The price was right, too!

Great but seems to run big.

Nice jacket. Perfect for casual, wet but not cold days. Nice stitching detail and nicer lining - sometimes it's just pure nylon on the inside but this is lined with patterned fabric which adds a layer of comfort and style. I'd bought a Girls 14/16 L in a similar jacket and it was fine but this one seems to run big. The size chart said for someone 5 feet, 95 lbs, that the 14/16 would be good. But there was a lot of excess sleeve at the top and it was billowy through the mid section and hung loose at the waist. It was not slim fitting. I returned it.

Is this jacket insulated? Can I wear it in the winter time and it'll still keep me warm?

Responded on

No this jacket is not insulated. You could combo it with a sweater and trap the heat against you that definitely would increase the temp range you could use it in.

Does anyone know how to pack this jacket into the concealed pocket? Tag says it packs into a small self-contained bundle, but gives no instructions on how to do it.
