Columbia Kaleidaslope Jacket - Women's - 2010 BCS

I'm giving this jacket 5 stars even though I'm
returning it. I actually ended up buying the Columbia Ice Prism which this Kaleidaslope jacket is an insert for, so I obviously don't need 2 of them. I love the feel of this jacket, plus the thumb cuff which keeps my wrists from getting cold. I got a M--I'm 5'3, 116lbs--fits perfectly (I have broad shoulders). And, because of the Omni-Heat lining it's warm, my most important criteria. Oh, & I love the furry neck liner.

This is my first Columbia piece, and the jacket seems well made. The jacket is quite warm, and the cut and detailing is actually kind of cute. The "pizza box technology" thermal reflective lining seems to do the trick. I usually wear a Medium or Small in jackets. I'd say my shoulders are Medium and my torso a Small. I got this jacket in Small and it fits nicely, though I would not be able to fit much of a mid-layer underneath.

I was initially a little wary of how warm this jacket could be. It seemed a little on the thin side. However, it really proved itself in the warmth department. The onmi-heat is awesome and the thumb cuffs do a great job of keeping the cold out. It seemed to run just a bit on the small side but over all this makes for a great liner jacket.

This jacket is lightweight and warm. I wore it to walk my dog in 20 degree weather with nothing but a tank top underneath and I was toasty. Columbia has really stepped up their game. Runs a bit small. I have a M and it's on the smaller side of a M, I would call it a small and a half.
