    Pretty good

I bought this on sale as a possible jacket to layer when backpacking. It think it's going to be pretty good. I bought a large and it fit perfectly in the torso (I'm 5'9," 160lbs, broad shouldered, and busty). The arms could be a little longer but they aren't terrible. The thumb hole cuffs, make them just short of perfect, but considering its a regular and not a tall, they're pretty good.

Liked it, but couldn't keep it...

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: XS

This was a really beautiful jacket (I got it in the mineshaft color)that did seem pretty warm if accompanied by a warmer layer underneath. I had to return it for the size however. Even in an XS the shoulders were a bit boxy for me as I'm obnoxiously petite being under 5'2". If this is not you, then you should fit just fine.
The length seemed rather long to me as it covered my rear almost completely. The sleeve hand cuff fabric and the neck fleece was a really nice touch too. I wish I could have kept this jacket, but the thermoball fit slightly better albeit not by much at all, and came with a hood.

Didn't work for me, but still a really nice jacket.

      Lightweight and soft

      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Medium

This jacket is lightweight but warm enough for where I live. The color is a little more purple than I was expecting (Bluebell is more of a dark periwinkle than denim blue) and the fabric has quite a bit of shine compared to the picture online. Having purchased the medium expecting it to fit exactly based on the size chart, I would not be comfortable wearing more than a single layer under it, as it is a bit form fitting--size up if you are looking to layer. Our winter is already over in Central CA, so i have not been able to test it in the rain, strong wind or temps below 40°F. For reference, my measurements are 34-28-40. Loose fit in chest and waist, exact fit at the hip in a medium.

Love this jacket- getting my 2nd one!

I have owned one of these for several years in black and just ordered it in Quill for another color. It has held up well and I absolutely love it. It is light yet very warm. Wear a sweater and you will be warm shopping a store, but not enough so you can't stand it like a down jacket. The Omni Heat does what it says...reflects body heat so you stay toasty. We get lots of below zero days and this is all I wear in Minnesota winters. I don't like puffy down jackets that you sweat in and look like a marshmallow. It's attractive and I get lots of compliments.

I purchased this jacket as a birthday gift for my mom. I am originally from New England and grew up wearing Columbia so I thought this would be a good choice. And it was!. My mom loves it! She doesn't do a ton of hard core cold weather activities but it does get pretty dang cold where she lives (MA) and she has been raving about this jacket ever since she got it. I got the Tradewinds Grey color option and I have to admit...I was a little concerned that the color and the little silver Omni-Heat dots were going to make it look like a space suit! But the grey is actually pretty subdued and it doesn't at all :)

We were looking for a winter coat for WINTER. This is a fine, cute coat for shopping, milder temps and light winds. Important information to note is that it is the lining of an interchangeable jacket sans the outer shell. And the shell is not sold separately. Hence, not ideal for cold, outdoor activities or winter days in Minnesota. That piece of info would have saved me the hassle of returns, shipping costs and finding another jacket. Yeesh.

Well Beth I have owned one of these jackets for years and I am in Minnesota and it is all I wear even on the coldest of days below zero. If you wear a sweater with it you get too hot going indoors at a store. You lost out here. it is a fantastic jacket.

Got this for my Mom as a Bday present. She likes it a lot. Good fitting. Sleeves are long enough. She uses it for running around in town during the winter. The collar is grey on hers when flipped down, as you can see in the picture online. Got her the Madder Brown but it's more bronze than anything.

      Different than pictured

I just got my coat and I was disappointed that the black one pictured is not the one I received. The inside collar on mine is light gray not the black and brown as pictured. I would just send it back but I'd rather not pay the 6.99 shipping fee.

Why is the jacket pictured not the one I recieved? The color of the collar was light gray on mine and not the black and brown color as pictured.
