Geocache Down Jacket - Men's

Before the lifts start turning this fall, head up to the resort to see its first thin coat of snow while staying warm in the lightweight, insulating Columbia Geocache Down Jacket. A toasty layer of 550-fill power down insulation features an Omni-Heat thermal reflective lining, which bounces your own warmth off the jacket’s lining and back onto your body, so you use less energy as you hike. If the blowing snow or a few rogue flakes fly in from the north, the water-resistant Omni-Shield shell prevents moisture penetration. Narrow baffles add a techy-casual look for trips to the après ski bar and keep the insulation in place so you stay warm while hiking, skiing, or camping in any season.

Bottom Line: Put on the Geocache when you need a heat-retaining mid-layer for winter, or a warm, packable outer layer for the rest of the year.

Nice Jacket

Just bought this jacket from a Columbia outlet in my area. I have Patagonia down sweater and two North Face Thunder jackets. Honestly...the Columbia fits better than the Patagonia and equally as nice as the Thunder. Really nice jacket for the price. Not sure on warmth yet but fit and quality are really nice. I'm 5' 10 165lbs...all the above are Medium and fit great.

Columbia Geocache Down Jacket-Men's

By:
December 28, 2010

My husband loves his new Columbia Geocache Down Jacket. He wore it on a 30 degree walk with just a t-shirt and got a bit cold, but it was very toasty with a long sleeve shirt on underneath on a previous 20 degree walk. We did notice a few white feathers trying to poke through but you have to look hard to notice them. Great coat!

Is this thing packable? Can you fit this into a 1.5 liter stuff sack?

Bought for my husband

It looks really good on him. It's not your usual stay puff marshmallow man down jacket (much less bulky) and the additional stitching also makes it more trim looking. Only have had a couple of cold days and he says it's great. Looking forward to trying it out this winter in really cold weather. Got myself the woman's version but it's not listed on backcountry.com. I love mine too. Getting into a cold car and my butt is freezing but my back on the cold seat is fine with the jacket.
